Grovelling Under Golden Arches- Malaysia Truly Arabia?

Good to see that sensible Muslims in Malaysia are disowning the sectarian discrimination imposed by Mcdonalds there, after the fast food chain confirmed that it allows customers to bring their own birthday cakes as an exception to its “No Outside Food” policy…

The local Islamic Council leader, Wan Ji Wan Hussein, spoke up on this grotesque double-standard, by which Christian or Buddhist kiddies will be shut out if they dare bring a non-halal cake along for their birthday parties.

“What they are doing will only make Islam look like this very rigid religion when, actually, especially on matters of food, it is quite simple.”

    •  Refreshing to see that rebuke, and it’s about time Mcdonald’s here in Jakarta reviewed their behaviour, that pandering we saw during Ramadhan last year…

Big Mackistan? Ramadhan Lock-Out at McD Sarinah?

    •  …but there’s a lot more needs to be done in Malaysia, where iniquitous intolerance got the stamp of approval from the highest court in the land…

    • Mr.Wan and other wise heads in his organisation should be out campaigning to have the high court’s dogmatic diktat reversed.

Too far you go in talking against the rule of Ramadhan.
Non-Muslim need to respect holy fast month and not be seen to eat in public.

Malaysia used to be a pretty good place to live but not now, if you happen to be non-Muslim.
This ban on birthday cakes is stupid and unfair but banning Christians from speaking of God as God (in their own language!) is the worst kind of Islamic bigotry.

But you are crazy if you hope it will be overturned.
Once the shariocracy is empowered, they won’t ever give up control, over Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
It’s the same as fascism or communism, no freedom and no fun.

Aceh’s Shariah Savagery Shames Indonesia, Again!

    whatever__i_love_indonesia_by_NOF_artherapy

    ============

Anyone who cares about Indonesia’s reputation will have shuddered anew at the news from the barbarous province infamous for its shariah iniquities.

    • The Sharia Hell of Aceh!

      The Sharia Hell of Aceh!

    • Seven men and six women were publicly caned in the front yard of the Al Ikhlas Mosque…

    • …Banda Aceh deputy mayor Zainal Arifin and hundreds of residents witnessed the public punishment...

    • …the convicts were guilty of inappropriate acts, including khalwat (affectionate contact by an unmarried couple) and ikhtilat (intimacy or mixing) in violation of Islamic bylaws.

    http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/17/13-people-caned-for-indecency-in-aceh.html

Which is to say, none of these gals was probably even kissing a guy.

According to Malaysia’s Islamic Shariah laws, unmarried Muslims who meet in private can be charged with “khalwat,” or “close proximity,” which carries fines and prison sentences of several months. Campaign against Cupid targets Malaysia’s Muslims

That’s in Malaysia, but the fanatics there are little different from their fellow-fanatics in Aceh.

Maybe those poor kids weren’t even holding hands, just sitting with a boy-friend, or just a boy who happens to be a friend, all by themselves on a park bench.

    ——-.

    Shariah Controlled Zone_thumb[1]

Religious police have traditionally enforced a rigid separation of the sexes in public places, arresting those that commit the crime of ikhtilat, or “mixing.” Second-Class Citizens

That’s talking about Arabs, but Aceh is in many respects more Arabian than Indonesian.

Yet let’s be fair to the savages. They are not without some tiny tincture of humanity.

The caning of a 14th convict was delayed due to her pregnancy and is set to be carried out after she has given birth.

Deputy mayor Zainal asserted that the punishment was meant to teach people a lesson so that they would not violate Islamic law.

    SICKO_logo-11

May God forgive these cruel creeps, because no civilised mortal should.

I grow weary sometimes of recording the antics of the primitive authorities up there on what they delight in calling the Verandah of Mecca.

But I feel obliged to do so.

Decent Indonesians, I know, share my revulsion, not at the punishments, because a good sound thrashing would be work well done on various thug-gangs all over the archipelago, like the IslamoNazi hoodlums in my fave photo…

    ———-

    FPI_13

    ——–

.., but at the absurd ‘offences’ the fanatics use to provide slobbering bigot audiences with the Acehnese equivalent of the ‘circus’ element of the ‘bread and circuses’ policy operated by dissolute Roman emperors two thousand years ago.

    And the ‘bread?’

Well, the quite numerous gross pigs in Aceh convicted of corruption seem never to get whipped. Such welcome scenes could be televised and would probably break all records in terms of nationwide viewing figures.

And the cheers would be deafening!

It is sickening, what they do to poor people who have done nothing wrong.
I like Indonesia and have many friends here who are embarassed by these public whippings of women by masked men outside the mosque.
I wish President Jokowi would step in and stop it.

Sex ‘Not Sinful Even If By Force!’ New Year Fatwa Needed?

HTM, which seeks to establish a global caliphate, has been vocal in its demands, most recently for declaring Malaysia’s welcoming of US president Barack Obama in November as “haram.”

Not every day I find myself nodding in agreement with Hizbut Tahrir, but their distaste for Obama does evoke a certain empathy!

However, the news item has more to say on that fanatic outfit’s outlook on the world we live in, which inspires me to applaud the Islamic authorities in Selangor, Malaysia – an equally rare occurrence!

    YUK!

    sexism

Only a week ago, I mentioned the need for ‘excommunication’ to counter ‘Islamophobia’ – by excising unpleasant elements altogether, decent Muslims could do wonders to facilitate useful dialogue with the non-Islamic world.

Those Muslims whom I know and regard as friends certainly are horrified by the nonsense and nastiness of HT and, here in Indonesia, the FPI.

But my friends are everyday people, people whose voices are not heard in high places.

Certainly, the Muslim ‘scholars’ in Jakarta have not included the deviance of such gangs among the many fatwas they issue, unlike in Malaysia’s Selangor state.

    • 3557c-hizbut-tahrir2
    • In the fatwa in the Selangor government gazette on September 17 and published today as a notice in Malay-language daily Sinar Harian, Hizbut Tahrir was declared a “deviant” movement for several reasons, including its claim that MPs, rulers and Islamic scholars here are infidels for accepting and following a government system that it claims to be against God’s will.

HT are notorious for their loathing of democracy, and of any concept of ‘human rights’ that might be comprehemsible to the rest of us.

    • Sadly, the top ‘scholars’ body here, the Majelis Ulema Indonesia, who could fatwa HTI, have a downright bizarre notion of ‘rights’ – one senior figure in the MUI famously described FGM as a human right!

    • Elsewhere in recent news, I read that in such diverse countries as Pakistan…

    • Please note – the sectarian ‘caliphate’ (dictatorship) would extend into Europe, through Greece almost to the Gates of Vienna – who’s been setting the scene for that recently!!
    • ————
    • ….and Kirghizstan, detention of HT flunkeys has been taking place. They are banned in numerous Muslim lands.

Yet here in Indonesia, we’ve had to report not that long ago a case of the police – yes, the police! – handing over innocent orphans for ‘counselling’ by such hate-groups.   https://rossrightangle.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/muslim-school-burned-by-angry-crowd-police-enlist-islamonazis-to-counsel-kids/

With Muslim New Year just gone by – on the same day I was enjoying Christmas Eve – it would have been pleasing if President Jokowi, and the MUI, and the National Police, had announced that the bans in Pakistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Kirghizstan and elsewhere…

…were henceforth to be replicated across the archipelago.  That didn’t happen! However, tomorrow is everybody’s New Year, celebrated, as midnight tolls, by Indonesians of all faiths and of none.

So wouldn’t that ban make a wonderful start to 2016?

Sarawak – Turkeys Delight In Creeping Shariah?

“When you allow repeated affronts, when the government allows public servants and instigators to continue to disrespect and have contempt for non-Muslims, it all feeds into the backdrop of fear we’re seeing across the country,” says Stephen, a volunteer church worker.

What does he want for Christmas? “More cheer and less fear in the New Year.” http://www.ucanews.com/news/festive-cheer-and-fear-in-malaysia/74732

That’s the tail-end of an article on how Christians in Malaysia face ever-fiercer Islamist intolerance, one of the worst examples being demands for removal of a cross  – from a church!

    ——–

    malaysia-truly-asia-300x271arabia

    —————————————-

A mob of bigoted ignoramuses imposed their will on a small congregation because they believed the cross, one of the central symbols of Christianity, posed a challenge to Islam and could sway the faith of young people..   Malaysia orders probe after protest…

Those last half-dozen words exemplify the paranoid insecurity – deep doubts about their hold on their flock – that motivates fanatics to target Christians or even Muslim dissenters.

Malaysarabia? Unable To Refute Critics, Islamists Use Police State Jackboot!

It’s sad to see that the incident occurred not in some benighted backwoods dump but in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city.

But this month again we see news of further nasty sectarianism, the use of the country’s goods and services tax to price traditional Christmas turkey fare off the tables of ordinary Malaysians in Sarawak this festive season.

    =

    =

“Last year, turkey was left out because of ‘technical problems’. Now it’s left out because of supply and demand. “What will be the excuse next year?”.

You can read the whole story via the link.

But after all that’s happened in recent years, it’s a pretty clear affirmation that what we have called ‘creeping shariah’ is now trotting along at a powerful pace.

I hope Christians spare a thought for those thus discriminated against, and look to the brave people of all creeds here in Indonesia to guard against any intensification of the sectarianism we have seen on the rise in this beautiful country.
