    Merdeka! Akhirnya! Free At Last!

For my Indonesian readers ( about 25% of the daily total) I mark today’s joyous news, with –

    ‘Freedom! Finally!’

Drinking to Britannia Unchained later today – it’s not even 11am here in Jakarta!

I wish I could have joined that happy crowd in Glasgow last night, rain or no rain!

Brexit Day party in Glasgow is damp squib as 100 people celebrate as Scotland leaves the European Union

The pro British rally in George Square was held in pouring rain as the group waved Union flags, sang Rule Britannia and cheered…

Thank you, Kezia. I have a wedding to attend tomorrow, so it will be drinks plural but not too many!
I am doing minimal blogging today. Too exultant to do more than watch the scenes of joy from Parliament Square in London!
Forty five years ago, after the last referendum, I made a speech in which I prophesied the fightback for freedom would ultimately win.
        BIG day today!

Astaga, BeritaSatu! Lebih Banyak ‘Brexit’ Omong Kosong Daripada BBC!

    Astaga! OMG!

I expostulate bilingually today, because of my dismay at the fact that Remainiac slanting, distortion, indeed, of the news..

…that British people expect from the collabos in the BBC and the Guardian, has now surfaced here in Jakarta!

I was skimming through ‘Brexit’ news after yesterday’s fallacious ruling from the UK Supreme Court, when I came across this.

Gara2 Brexit Perusahaan Berusia 178 Tahun Ini Bangkrut

    …which, translated correctly, means…

Because of Brexit, this 178-year-old company went bankrupt

The Thomas Cook saga, stirred into an anti-Brexit spin.

Check it out, use any translation tool you like!

    BeritaSatu TV logo

BeritaSatu is a well-known segment of the Indonesia media, and while I have often had a go at some media here for sectarian absurdity and complicity, notably Gramedia’s involvement with book-burning…

…it’s something of a shock to stumble across Europhiliac yuk-stuff like the above in this tropical archipelago!

Even the story below the ‘omong kosong’ ( bull-sh*t) headline makes clear how outrageously it strays from the facts.

The company blamed several issues such as political instability in tourism destination countries, for example Turkey, a prolonged heat wave, to the Brexit issue which made tourists delay trips. Tight business competition also makes the company ultimately losers. Now, people can easily plan their own vacation without the help of a travel company…

So among all the real reasons Thomas Cook collapsed, ‘the Brexit issue’ is merely tagged on, an arguable, dubious tail-end to the tally of contributory causes.

I’d hazard a guess it wan’t the journo who wrote the story but a sub-editor somewhere.

But the Editor carries the can.

But having spent a lot of time and energy explaining to Indonesians that British people want and deserve independence from the Brussels Empire today….

….just as much as Indonesians wanted independence from the Dutch Empire in 1945…

…. it’s alarming to see this kind of thing appearing in local media as the fight for freedom rages back in The Old Country.

Why would they say such nonsense?
      Who owns Beritasatu?

I remember when you were celebrating the Brexit referendum.
The beritasatu headline is very misleading.
Many people here do not understand what Brexit is about so I hope they read this useful corrective from you.

In case your readers in Indonesia are unaware of the BBC’s repeated bias, you could ask them to examine the recent cases when even the BBC’s own ‘complaints unit’ had to uphold objections to a leftist ‘news’ announcer named Munchetty after she ‘went beyond what the guidelines allow for,” for whining about President Trump.
Not long before that, their Newsnight presenter, Emily Maitlis showed her true left colors, “sneering and bullying” Rod Little, a right-of-centre journalist. But although this woman ‘failed to be even-handed,’ neither she nor Munchetty have been transferred to do what they’re more fitted to do, jobs as tea-ladies in the BBC’s canteen.
Then there was that other woman you reported on your blog, all first-namey with the ISIS terrorist Begum. https://rossrightangle.wordpress.com/2019/08/06/bbc-on-first-name-terms-with-jihadist-vermin/

It’s nothing new, as you know but many Indonesians ( and other foreign viewers) don’t!
There was a report in The Sun July 18, that talked about ‘continual, relentless bias against Brexit.’
And August 20 this year, when the Express reported that ‘the BBC has been forced to climb down in the face of a complaint about anti-Brexit bias.’

If people in Indonesia want to read how bad the BBC is, they can also of course use your readable reports on BBC bias, which I have been looking through before I started this comment.
