Muppet Macron’s Mock-Consultation -“We’ll Only Talk About What WE Value!”
This consultation will see the president meet with civil society groups, mayors, businesses and the “yellow vests…”
BUT!
…however government spokesperson Benjamin Griveaux confirmed on Tuesday that topics such as gay marriage, the death penalty and abortion would not be up for discussion.
Benjamin-Blaise Griveaux is described as having a ‘devouring ambition’ and if you translate this article, you’ll learn a lot about him – not a nice man! https://www.voici.fr/news-people/actu-people/qui-est-benjamin-griveaux-le-tres-clivant-nouveau-porte-parole-du-gouvernement-641684

“We will not um and ah on values,” Griveaux told BFMTV…
What an arrogant little squirt, to hold out the prospect of talks with people and at once to tell them that if they are out of sympathy with his bankster leader’s left-liberal ideology they need expect no dialogue.
=====
Some consultation!
But Macron is of course a Europhiliac so one might have expected any such scheme would be modelled on the Brussels Empire’s notorious ECI, the European Citizens Initiative...
EUSSR Ministers Desperate to Shut Out Citizens – A Tradition of Lies and Deceit
EUSSR…Participatory Democracy? – A Travesty…Common Identity? – A Joke!
….which has been exposed here and elsewhere as a mere replica of the age-old system of humble subjects beseeching an audience with the ruler.
And the ruler can rule out anything he doesn’t feel like discussing.
That report was in The Leftal, sorry, The Local, but the UK’s Telegraph was also a useful read on Macron’s contempt for the whole idea of democratic consultation.

We had Cameron’s famous consultation on queer ‘marriage’ and look what that meant! He pushed it through, no referendum.
Macron is just as bad, worse, because he has excluded migration, because he knows that French people would say no more!
Long live the Yellow VestS!

What you write is very true. Macron thinks we are all the sans culottes, peasant rabble.
He should be careful, because the last time we were despised as he despises us, we found a solution, a tall one where the knitting grandmamas would sit as aristocrat heads rolled.

It sounds like Macron’s usual slippery self, shamed by public anger that he omitted immigration from his grand debate but still determined to prevent the French people having a meaningful say on the issue.
He is now allowing discussion of something called migrant ‘quotas’ but will brook no challenge to his policy of bringing ashore regular supplies of un-vetted fake refugees.
It is gratifying that the far-left, including politicians from his own party as well as the extremist ‘SsOS Racisme’ are furious that he dares to let anybody from the common people have even that much of a voice on even that much immigration.
Moreover, Marine Le Pen’s followers have attacked his late and half-hearted inching towards democratic dialogue on the migrant menace, as you rightly call it.

As you say, Petra, he is only playing at consultation and most French know it. He will never agree to democratic control of our country, so the Yellow Vest movement will continue until we have made him less prideful and more humble.
We need leadership in France, for the French and not for only what the elite value.
