As we know, the Trudeau government is forcing through changes to our National Anthem – without giving Canadians a voice.

The majority of Canadians oppose changing “In All Thy Sons Command” to “In All Of Us Command,” yet the Trudeau government is politicizing our national anthem by changing it anyway.

The response on social media has been very clear: Canadians are angry about our anthem being changed by the Trudeau government.

 

That’s why I’ve created a petition demanding that our National Anthem be restored to “In All Thy Sons Command,” and making it clear that any changes to the anthem should only be approved through a national referendum.

Here’s the text of the petition:

Without consulting Canadians, the Trudeau government unilaterally forced a change to our Canadian National Anthem O Canada.

 

They are changing “In All Thy Sons Command” to “In All Of Us Command.”

Despite numerous polls showing the majority of Canadians oppose this change, the Trudeau government forced it through anyway.

The National Anthem should never be changed without the clear support of the Canadian people, and that could only happen through a national referendum.

By denying Canadians an opportunity to make our voices known, the Trudeau government has shown total disrespect to our country.

That’s why we need to send a clear message to Parliament: Restore “In All Thy Sons Command” in O Canada and guarantee that any future changes can only be approved through a national referendum.

As the football season rolls on, more and more athletes are disgracing themselves and embarrassing their coaches and teams by thumbing their noses at the national anthem.

As a result of San Francisco 49ers football player Colin Kaepernick shameful antics of kneeling during the national anthem, even junior high students are now following the pied piper and engaging in the same unpatriotic antics.

One college football player is not ashamed to show his pride in America…even to the point of standing alone.

Last week, Millikin University linebacker Conner Brewer was the only player from his private Illinois university team to stand on the sideline and proudly respect the playing of the national anthem.

His teammates cowered in the locker room, choosing to hide away during the playing of our nation’s most beloved refrain.

Conner’s stand is a testament to the bravery and patriotic pride of those who defended Fort McHenry the night before Frances Scott Key wrote our nation’s rallying cry.

Let’s not let Conner stand alone. Make a statement that our national anthem is worth standing for!

I can’t say I’ve heard of him but then his sports are not of any great interest to me. My own sports were marathon running (not any more, not in Indonesia’s hot climate!) and swimming, which I still enjoy.  I’ll watch soccer if it’s the World Cup, and one of the joys of doing so is the patriotic cheering to be heard from every country’s supporters.
