    Moooo! Penka Lives OK!

Just arisen, got my first coffee, opened the emails, and lo, though Jakarta is – unusually this month – rather overcast, there is news to brighten the otherwise dull day

    Victory for Penka!

Bulgarian officials have announced that Penka will not be put down, following an outcry from eurosceptics and animal lovers across the continent – including Beatles singer Sir Paul McCartney. This cow lives to graze another day – thanks all for signing the petition.

So now I feed the cat and face this Tuesday morning buoyed by one small win over the forces of darkness…

….and decide what to do in a huge city with a dwindling population, almost everyone I know either gone out of town or packing to do so, the Idul Fitri holiday now just days away.

I can either tidy up, do the washing and mop the floor…

I tried Google for a picture to illustrate ‘hard housework’ – alas, no phone number was included.

What do YOU think I’ll choose to do?

Always nice to score even a little victory over senseless Brussels rules.
Funny how they want to stop such harmless animals crossing the EU border but they do nothing to stop wild animals pouring in and won’t even cage them when they are in.

Save This Cow – She’s Infinitely Nicer Than Jihadist Sows!

I’ll certainly not be the first to reflect on the weirdness/inconsistency of ‘EU’ policies that allow dangerous, rabid animals to cross into member states, where they get welcomed lavishly by state authorities…

    ===

    ———-

…yet when a perfectly healthy farm animal accidentally strays across a border and is found and brought back to its owner after getting the all-clear from a vet, the harmless creature is scheduled for execution.

In a sensible world the opposite would be the case.

Filthy sows infected with the jihadist virus would be put down fast…

…while the poor cow would be made much of and restored to normal milking life.

      Save the cow!
I have circulated this to about ten people.
      I like your comparisons.

Yes, Lorne, the comparison between the cow victimised by Brussels bureaucracy and the blood-thirsty sows who gave physical and-or moral support to the caliphate gang, and now back in Europe unhindred, is very appealing.
I’ve got the petition circulating among all my anmal-loving aunties! They never had much time for the EU before and now they’lldetest it.

Farmers in America value our cows and my grandparents would have fought for one of ours if it had been threatened like this.
      I will sign up.

If I lived in Europe I would start a petition for the EU to have illegal aliens who commit jihadist crimes put down by a vet.

With so many ‘animal rights’ organisations now run by the far-left, I would normally be very reluctant to sign on to this kind of campaign but you made me think about it and so I have signed the petition.
It is so unfair to the farmer. Cows are not cheap and it’s neither the cow’s fault nor the farmer’s if it was spooked and trotted out of Bulgaria and into Serbia.
If the animal posed a risk to the herd or to humans, then it would need to be put down but that is not stated in the report.
As you say, this is senseless and is in such contrast with the way those hateful jihadists are treated.
I don’t know about all the EU countries but Britain and Belgium just take them in as Prodigal Sons and Daughters and kill the fatted calf for the killers.
