Hizbut Ban -Will Jokowi Put Canberra To Shame?

How nice to wake up and get a pleasant surprise from Indonesian politics for a change.

    =

    =

That’s my initial reaction to the news that President Jokowi’s Security Affairs Minister Wiranto told the media yesterday that Hizbut Tahrir has been promoting values that contradict Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

    Wiranto

    =

It’s hard to see how anyone aware of HTI’s ideology, which I’ve summed up as ‘caliphofascism,’ can disagree.

Not only has the fanatic group openly denounced democracy…

    =

‘Charlie Hebdo – Proof of Democracy’s Rot!’

    =

…but they are explicitly hostile to national sovereignty, their aspiration being the subjugation of all independent countries to a supranational Islamist regime, harking back to the despotic Ottoman Caliphate which was admirably scrapped by Kemal Ataturk after the First World War.

    ——-

    caliphate

    ——

If the government here keeps its word, Indonesia won’t be the only Muslim country to outlaw these fanatics. However, Wiranto had best make sure the country’s security services are on board with the plan. We have seen police actually consigning helpless children to their clutches…

    …….

Muslim School Burned by Angry Crowd –Police Enlist IslamoNazis to Counsel Kids!

ipso facto enabling indoctrination by both that gang and with other unwholesome elements here.

True, that was a local decision but did national police HQ step in, rescue those kids and fire the senior officer involved?

Hizbut Tahrir is a trans-national organisation.

Hizbut Tahrir UK – “When ‘Moderates’ Talk of Peace, They’re Lying!”

There’s been talk – only talk, thanks to weak-kneed British and Australian politicians – of banning them in both Australia and the UK.

Petition · Hizb ut-Tahrir: Call to ban group in Australia · Change.org

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is being urged to ban Islamist extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir from Australia…

‘Ex-Muslims should be free from death threats’

So, although in Jakarta there’s always a risk of ‘many a slip twixt cup and lip,’ it looks like Jokowi is showing more grit and guts in his handling of the Islamist menace.

It would be churlish not to applaud him, though let’s hope this ban won’t be the last.

    • Rightly, the  PKI (Communist Party of Indonesia) has long been prohibited from spreading its vile marxism here.

I’ve drawn the parallel before – Indonesia Retains Red Ban – So Why Not HTI Too?  – that there’s no reason why similarly toxic jihadism should not be dealt with in the same way.

I’ve tried to get the TRUE story out before –‘We Don’t Want Communism?’ But if You Did, It’s Time To Apologise!!  –  but there are people here in Indonesia who are determined to white-wash marxist evil.

Indonesia Retains Red Ban – So Why Not HTI Too?

No doubt all those comsymp creeps who have been demanding President Jokowi apologise for things that happened when he was four years old – Bravo, Jokowi – No Crawling To Unrepentant Red Rats!  – will be frothing at the mouth.

    • And I dare say much cussing was to be heard around the editorial lounges of the Jakarta Post – Jakarta Post’s ‘Red Apology’ Clique Getting Desperate?   and maybe the Jakarta Globe too.
    • Both English-language media have shown little ability to distinguish between people wrongly accused of communism in 1965 on the one hand and, on the other, the red reprobates of the PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party.

    So what’s the latest furore?

Indonesia’s House of Representatives Commission III overseeing legal affairs has backed the government’s draft revision of the Criminal Code that retains articles banning communism, saying the regulation is important to protect national ideology Pancasila.

Pancasila, for overseas readers, is the pluralist basis on which Indonesia was established.

It’s a finely balanced argument, this.

Commission III member Teuku Taufiqulhadi said Article 219 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates that anyone who goes against the law by promoting communism can be sentenced to a maximum of seven years in prison, did not go too far in the effort to defend Pancasila from ideology that could threaten it.

OK, let’s leave it to parliament to debate the issue.

    —————————————————————–

But one ought to be able to expect consistency from legislators.

If Communism is to be proscribed, then certainly the much more immediately dangerous Hizbut Tahrir caliphofascist movement should also be declared beyond the pale.

    • They not only aim to destroy Indonesian democracy, but worse, to subjugate Indonesia, and every other country they can capture, abolishing its hard-won independence to a supranational sectarian tyranny, a worldwide affront to freedom. Many countries, Muslim countries too, have banned it already.

I have been following your commendable resistance to this Jakarta Post campaign and must congratulate you on your latest chapter! Your quotations from Senor Fontova’s writings are always welcome reading.

I too suffer a wave of nausea when I see some teenager wearing those Che Guevara tee-shirts, even although 90% of them very probably have no idea of his maniac record.
A real shame they don’t use that picture of Cardinal Mindszenty, who unlike Guevara was both good and brave, a prisoner of conscience who, you would think, is a much better role model for the young Catholics in that Atma Jaya University.

What is wrong with the editorial board at the Jakarta Post?
I suppose most of them are far too young to even remember 1965 and they only have a red-rose tinted version from their parent’s generation to base their beliefs about what it was all about. Indonesia was lucky to escape PKI rule. It would have been at least as bad as what happened in Vietnam after 1975. The Post would most certainly not be publishing criticism of the government if Mr. D N Aidit had gotten control of the country.

It makes me think they’ve picked up their bias from university teachers and so your post does answer my question. That’s what is wrong with them.
It’s the same in our Canadian colleges, lecturers so far twisted to the left that they can hardly stand up straight.,

I don’t think these old PKI communists are any threat to Indonesia today, Ross. They should just be left to their own devises.
Trying to make them say sorry as you suggest is no different from dragging 90 year old concentration camp guards into court. They can say they’re innocent all they like but whether they’re telling the truth or not, they won’t last long anyway.
But you are right about Gramedia, they should apologise for the book burning.

War Criminal Unpunished – Jakarta Post Bleats On Regardless!

    ——–

It’s nice, every so often, to post an RIP for somebody who has passed on, whether some conservative patriot or simply an entertainer who’s made life more fun for millions.

But when it’s the death of an indisputably evil person, I tend not to mention the ratbag. If there is indeed an afterlife, then he or she is already facing hellfire and no words of mine will make much difference to that. If there’s simply nothing, well, one less awful person in the world, but there are plenty more alive and kicking at whom to launch verbal salvos.

However, as with every rule, one should make exceptions.

If Blood-Beast Adams gets what he deserves, some rainy Belfast day, I’ll comment cheerfully.

Similarly, the Hungarian Communist traitor,  Béla Biszku, deserves a mention. And not least because an ostensibly serious newspaper right here in Jakarta can publish bizarre references to more progressive moves made by the government in the past few years to erode the anticommunist sentiment inherited from the post-World War II era.    http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/03/29/commentary-police-dancing-outdated-rhythm.html

Jakarta Post, Yet To Condemn Book-Burning, Calls Now For Freedom?

Yesterday the Jakarta Post had a barely coherent piece about ‘gays,’ Grammar and ‘Gays!’ – Poor Old Jakarta Post!  but embedded in it was a fairly odd definition of communism as ‘an economic system.’

    ———

    communism_by_rapierwitt2

    —-

Communism of course is a callous, cruel political system which has murdered hundreds of millions of innocent people and still holds hundreds of millions more innocents enslaved, from Lhasa to Havana.

But we would expect no less from the JP.

Jakarta Post – Never Miss a Chance to Re-Hab Reds!

Jakarta Post Lets Oz Red Urge Show Trial for Morrison

Today, I came across the latest paper edition of that newspaper, in North Jakarta. A quick glance at its front page revealed what should surely have been designated as an opinion piece, but appeared to  be masquerading as news, in which these folowing gems of objective reporting were typical.

The involvement of the police and their apparent favoring of intolerant religious and ultranationalist groups that consider leftist movements to be supporting communism has been raising some eyebrows.

    Whose eye-brows?

Jakarta Post hacks, who fail to examine whether or not those ‘leftist movements’ are or are not ‘supporting communism?

    communism tyranny

    ——

That’s an important question, which needs to be put directly to the Turn Left gang – do they or do they not, each and every one of them, repudiate the satanic marxist creed or do they not?

Only when they have done so can we begin to take seriously the JP’s hyperbolic hogwash.

    Which goes on and on….

Imposing restrictions on the freedom of speech, as state apparatuses did with the Turn Left Festival, is both mindboggling and irrelevant nowadays when the country prides itself as being the world’s third largest democracy. – http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/03/15/ban-festival-reminiscent-authoritarianism.html

Whose mind is boggled? No names, especially not the JP author’s!

Irrelevant? Well, that’s a point of view!

And since there’s no author’s name attached, we must assume it’s that editorial clique whose loud pretensions about freedom of expression have rung so hollow since the JP’s parent company, Gramedia, openly collaborated with Islamist fanatics in a Hitlerian book-burning atrocity. Yes, the very same intolerant religious gang that the nameless JP scribbler abhors!

ISIS = PKI – So Why Not Outlaw All Evil In Indonesia?

    devil_by_lucasgraciano-d5agjlm ISIS

    ——–

Hard to believe, even from a ring-leader in Indonesia’s most notorious fanatic outfit, but in Jakarta, this week, Awit Masyhuri declared that the numerous Indonesian citizens who have joined the murderous rape gang ISIS have every right to do so.
    0000
    0000
     Awit Masyhuri
    —-
    ———–
“Those who want to join ISIS, it’s their individual right. So long as the Indonesian Government doesn’t become tyrannical, God willing, ISIS will not arise here,” said Awit on Thursday. He had prefaced these words of wisdom by saying the issue of recruitment of Indonesians need not be taken seriously.
Fortunately, it looks like President Jokowi may not heed such input. He’s said elsewhere in the media to be considering a special decree to prevent the flow of malignants intent on joining the jihadist rape-spree in the Middle East.
    ————–
But needless to say, the English-language media here, dominated as in the West by left-lib ‘rights’ whiners, is fretting about how anti-terrorist action might infringe ‘civil liberties.’
    ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

     00000000000000000000000000000000
    —————————-
The Jakarta Globe correctly reminds us of the empty words of Jokowi’s predecessor last year.
Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono famously declared last August that his government had prohibited Indonesians from joining IS and blocked Internet sites that promoted the group and its ideals…
and points out, also correctly, that those prohibitions have proven hollow.
    ———————
But that’s no reason for Jokowi not to do his best!
The JG wishes him well in his ‘balancing act’ but fusses about how airport staff are to distinguish between tourists and businessmen, on the one hand, and wannabe terror rapists on the other.
The (as always) anonymous editorial accuses the security forces of not having a handle on things.
    ———-
    For pity’s sake.
Instead of bad-mouthing those charged with going after terrs, they should read  their own article a few days ago, which described how those whose job it is to cleanse the country of terrorist vermin have complained about a loophole in Indonesia’s legal system, saying it has rendered them unable to press charges against Indonesians intent on going over to Syria to join the extremist group Islamic State.
    00000000000000000000
For example – after a wandering band were caught in Malaysia, apparently en route to sign up for some jolly rape-murder in ISIS Land, their swinish facilitator, a certain Suyatno, who was convicted in 2011 for an armed robbery of a CIMB Bank branch in Medan, North Sumatra…was arrested in Malaysia shortly after his release.

    Densus-88

The Indonesian police’s anti-terror unit, Densus 88, has since jailed Suyatno, but not because of his alleged IS-related plans….

And all the others held in that matter have since been released. Maybe some of them were unaware of the goal, merely planning to find work in the Middle East. That’s unclear.

But what is clear is the refutation of SBY’s assertion last year.

    ========================

    • =======================

Badrodin says this situation could easily be remedied if current anti-terrorism legislation were amended, or even by a new government regulation in lieu of law, or perppu.

Frankly, its hard to figure out what’s holding things up.
Indonesia’s constitution definitely allows bans on organisations – and giving aid and comfort or other support to those organisations – perceived as dangerous, subversive or just plain evil.
    ——————
pkiposter PKI – ISIS devil destroyed
    ==========================-
Everyone knows the PKI Communist Party is outlawed, so why not ISIS?
One’s as bad as the other, though of course the Jakarta Globe doesn’t think the PKI are really such dreadful chaps!

However, most Indonesians probably disagree with the JG on how to handle unrepentant communist traitors, and most probably disagree with the IslamoNazi FPI on the issue of satanic jihadism.
    Or one must  hope so.
    ==========
Having said all that, this is not a case of singling out Indonesian authorities for criticism.
Back in the UK, Cameron continues to break his promise to outlaw Hizbut Tahrir, a classic example of the Enemy Within.
    ———————-
    0d8e4-kingcameronarrogant
    -00000000000000000000
And he has just refused to release a report on the Muslim Brotherhood, whose happily ousted Egyptian leader described Jews as descendants of pigs, and which, like HT, has, as its aim, the establishment of a totalitarian global caliphate.
Empty Threats, But Cameron Will Cower From Crim-Loving Court
    000000000000000
Indonesia, which is very fortunate not to be shackled by the craven curs on the European Court, has a golden opportunity to show the way forward.
