PKI Belum Mati? Public Funds and Pinko Propaganda!

As predicted, another fine sunny morning here!

Been meaning to follow up on an interesting report in the Jakarta Globe, about how parliamentary questions are being asked about some $11 million of public funds splurged on participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair.

    teguh-juwarno Teguh
“There were complaints about the presence of certain groups,”  says Teguh Juwarno, a legislator for the Islamist PAN party.
I’m not exactly a fan of Teguh, but I’d say he’s quite right to go through expenditure of millions with a fine-tooth comb.
Except that he falls straight into that most annoying habit we find here, intentional opacity.
    Certain groups?
What the heck does that refer to?
No further concrete info from Teguh, nor the Jakarta Globe, which adds that these unspecified groups of people had managed to steer discussions at the book fair into a direction that the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry considered undesirable…
Hasil gambar untuk frankfurt book fair pki
But Teguh’s further words give us a clue.
He said his commission had received complaints from embassy staff and diplomats abroad about Indonesia’s representation at the fair.
And back to the Jakarta Globe, which plays detective in the absence of any positive ID from Teguh.
Presumably, Teguh was insinuating that there had been unease among Indonesian officials about the prominent role at the event of books dealing with the 1965 anti-communist purges..while it was supposed to have been all about promoting Indonesia as “17,000 islands of imagination.
pkiposter PKI – a violent thug party
As we all know, the PKI, Communist party of Indonesia, is outlawed here, a direct consequence of their attempted ‘kudeta’ in 1965.
The public in general are fiercely anti-communist still, as we saw during the Presidential election last year, when attempts were made to smear President Jokowi as pro-communist.
This was obviously done to harm his campaign, and his campaign’s energetic – and successful – effort at refutation indicate the electorate’s anti-communist outlook.
Since the Reds were importing weaponry in vast quantities in 1965, supplied by Mao’s marxist tyranny, there’s little doubt that the PKI threat was very real.
Yet there is constant agitation, spurred along by both the Jakarta Globe and its ‘rival,’ the Jakarta Post, to rehabilitate the totalitarian hypocrites in that party.
This is dressed up as concern for those individuals either wrongly accused of communism or victimised purely because they had kin in the PKI or its various affiliated front organisations, like LEKRA, the ‘intellectual’ gang whose leading light was Pramoedya…

I’ve referred readers to Tempo, issue May 16-22, 2006 before, but must once more do so, for it covers the evil old Red’s career rather well and explains why some 25 “prominent literary figures and cultural observers” put their distinguished names to a formal submission to the Magsaysay Award Committee in 1995, protesting at that body’s decision to give Pramoedya an award.

    Pramoedya the Red

Their reasons were simply stated, viz his unethical role during one of the darkest periods for creativity during the Guided Democracy era, when he led the persecution of artists and literary figures who disagreed with him. (this protest is air-brushed out of most Western references nowadays, though a brief mention is to be found in an otherwise slavishly pro-Pram article in the Economist http://www.economist.com/node/168819 )

...but neither of those ‘revisionist’ papers seems able or willing to make a sufficently clear distinction between the above categories – who do indeed deserve sympathy – and vicious old PKI hacks who have never repented their evil ideology.
We’ve noted this problem often enough.

It’s a free country and if the JG and the JP want to lament the woes that befell communist traitors, they are entitled to do so.

As they are entitled to afford present-day foreign marxist malignants a platform to advance their causes.

Jakarta Post Lets Oz Red Urge Show Trial for Morrison!

However, in this case, if the allegations reflected in the JG report are correct, it’s not just pinko journos but government funds that have been enlisted in the revisionist cause.
If the theme of the state-sponsored stand in Frankfurt was designated as boosting tourism, then stocking it with books by left-leaning authors was totally out of order.
Not so long ago, we posted on the claims by various Islamist fanatic sources that the communist menace is alive and well.
Geriatrics V IslamoNazis – Jakarta 1965 – Whose Victims Were They?
I treated those ranters with some degree of scepticism, partly because of who they are, and partly because, knowing plenty of ordinary Indonesian folk, it seemed highly unlikely the PKI or any new version thereof, could ever gain a foothold here.
But the news from that book-fair in Germany does make me wonder – and it has plainly made a lot of Indonesians wonder as well.

Trump Makes Waves – In Jakarta! A Clinton Connection?

While The Donald Effect rips through America’s political landscape, Mr. Trump’s campaign has, more surprisingly, led to uproar here in Indonesia, after two prominent politicians made a surprise appearance at one the billionaire candidate’s press conferences.

    • trump

I won’t go into detail on the blow-back, suffice to say there are threats of law-suits raging – sadly, law-fare is a frequent occurrence in this lovely archipelago – and I simply attach a link to one English-language news story on the subject.

Politician threatens lawsuit against critic over Trump saga

But once more I must regrettfully report that the Jakarta Globe is plucking obscure far-left American academics to fill its pages, a lamentably biased article by some pinko prof from Drake University, wherever that is, railing against Trump’s sensible view on anchor babies…

….that phenomenon whereby any illegal immigrant, or anyone else, who gives birth in the USA, fondly expects that the offspring are thereby entitled to all the rights and privileges of American citizenship. Hence if my pregnant cat crawls into the neighbour’s dog’s kennel, its kittens are somehow categorised as puppies?

    So how come?

    • jakarta-globe5-300x246
    • Why is the Jakarta Globe publishing vicious anti-Trump diatribes? The candidate is surging, gathering support even among minority groups whom the race-obsessed left-lib media in the USA have been trying to turn against him.

Maybe that’s why! He’s up against a Clinton, after all!

This geezer Professor Anthony Gaughan is entitled to his opinion – he minces his words a lot, though, unable to being himself to use the correct description ‘illegal immigrants,’ instead substituting ‘unauthorised’ etc., a sure sign of pinko infection.

He quotes numerous ‘authorities’ to refute things Trump did or didn’t say, and appears incensed that most other Republican candidates agree with Trump, and even more outraged that most Americans agree with Trump, that these kids are no more American than I am.

Another gem is his allegation that ‘immigrants’ (does he mean honest immigrants who waited their turn, or illegals?) are more law-abiding than Americans.

Surely not the illegals, because they are ipso facto law-breakers.

Never mind – my grouse is with the Jakarta Globe for publishing this lefty rant.  http://jakartaglobe.beritasatu.com/international/commentary-donald-trumps-battle-birthright-citizenship/

There’s no obvious reason why the JG chose to splash all those column inches on this man, who  just snarls down from his ivory tower, part baffled, part enraged, by the fact that he is so utterly out of step with his fellow-citizens.

    • elite arrogance-s
    • =============
    • Of course, umlike the over-paid college elite, the lumpen-proletariat ( aka decent hard-working Americans) MUST have been manipulated by wicked Trump (oh, yes, and remember, almost all the other candidates for the party’s nomination!)

Funny how Trump’s challenge only picked up when he RESPONDED to normal people’s natural concern with the serious issue of illegal immigration, the monstrous crimes committed by the undesirable aliens, murder, rape…

Illegal Aliens Account for More than 30% of Murder Convictions in Several States

    Obama’s Pricey Plague-Dogs and Philadelphia’s Shame!

…WHICH WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO AMERICANS if those crimmigrants were not in America.

As for exploiting issues, how about the arch-race-baiter already in the White House?
But I leave it to American readers to refute Gaughan’s gabbling.

Again, what appalls me is the Jakarta Globe, ever-eager to find a prominent place for fanatics of the left, just as they push pinko propaganda in their endless effort to rehabilitate the totalitarian hypocrites of the Indonesian Commuunist Party.

Any pretence at objectivity would demand an article of equal length and position in the next available issue of their newspaper.
There are plenty of American conservatives able to write one – if invited to do so!
That won’t happen. If it does, I’ll eschew partying for a week.
    Oh, and BTW….
    Who owns the JG anyway?
Is it some limousine liberals, some folks with long-standing connections to the Clintons?
Depends how you define Lippo Group, but Lippo Group owns the Jakarta Globe.

Dig this report, from Radio Australia http://www.radioaustralia.net.au/international/2014-07-13/prabowo-camp-urges-bill-clinton-to-cancel-indonesia-visit/1342346  which concerned certain Indonesian politicos who wanted Boisterous Billy Boy to stay away from Indonesia during last year’s election season – it seems the reason the welcome mat was whipped away is because Mr Clinton’s visit is sponsored by a tycoon with links to the rival candidate and they may set up a meeting.

Collaborate With Jihadists? Hogwash, Say Jakarta Christians!

Sunday morning coming down, me getting up, slowly, and scanning the news, with growing interest.

Thanks to Merdeka.com, for exposing disinformation that could have seriously discredited reputable Christian leaders here in Jakarta.

    • anfpi2
    • ———————-
    •  There’s been an official denial that a widely reported ‘visit’ by the Protestant PGI (Communion of Churches in Indonesia) to the HQ of the vigilante gang calling itself the Islam Defenders’ Front (FPI) even took place!

PGI bantah kunjungi markas FPI di Petamburan

PGI’s Head of Public Relations, Jerry Sumampouw, declared that the story was simply not true.

    •  “There was a group of pastors went there, but not from PGI,” Jerry said. “Regarding this news report, we felt it necessary to state that the visit was not related to the Communion of Churches in Indonesia,” he said.

Merdeka’s responsible research instead suggests that the pastors who went to the FPI HQ were from a group named BAMAG LKKI (Inter-Agency Consultative Indonesian Christian Church Religious Institutions)

Never heard of them! But reassuring to hear that the respectable PGI did not sully its record by sitting down with the brutal white-shirts! No person should, in good conscience, be seen in their company.

    • But what the heck were those other pastors thinking?

They must have been carrying exceedingly long spoons to sup with dangerous fanatics, whose leading lights include people like Sobri Lubis, who openly incited murder against religious minority citizens…

It seems whoever they were, they were very apologetic about the mosque-burning in Tolikara.

There’s also a mention of the wayward reverends seeing eye-to-eye with their considerate hosts on the evils of the PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party, and of course every decent Indonesian would agree that the Reds were a cancer well-excised.

    • pkiposter PKI
    • fpi kill busddhist FPI

But equally, most Indonesians would surely see it as odd that an outfit like the FPI, motivated by an intolerant, violent ideology – jihadism – would be in any way entitled to condemn the PKI, which was motivated by an equally intolerant, violent ideology – marxism.

Geriatrics V IslamoNazis – Jakarta 1965 – Whose Victims Were They?

Just been poring over various websites for inspiration, and sure enough, the IslamoNazi FPI provides grist to the mill once more.

This time they’re belly-aching about a get-together of the ‘1965 Murder Victims Research Foundation  (YPKP 65) due to be held around now, in Salatiga, Central Java.

    • anfpi2

Their braying fuhrer, Muchsin, apparently ‘smells communism,’ and, oblivious to the similarities between his movement’s ideology and tactics and those traditionally deployed by the totalitarian hypocrites of Communist Parties everywhere, is threatening to send in jihadist white-shirt louts to break up the gathering.

“One of our campaigns is to resist communist activities. Every such event, FPI will reject it and dissolve it,” said Muchsin on Thursday.   http://www.cnnindonesia.com/nasional/20150806162400-20-70513/fpi-ancam-bubarkan-acara-temu-korban-65-bila-digelar/Since any surviving cadres of the Red vermin active in the attempted PKI (Communist Party of Indoesia) take-over in 1965 must be positively geriatric by now, the white-shirts should be able to best them in combat…

…unlike when they run up against able-bodied citizens, like those who sent them scuttling to that Sukorejo mosque, cowering like cornered rats til the cops escorted them out of town under cover of darkness.

It’s quite natural for Indonesia to ban the PKI. They were an evil organisation of knaves and traitors, and, as noted, hypocrites, like that rubbish writer Pramoedya – his unethical role during one of the darkest periods for creativity during the Guided Democracy era, when he led the persecution of artists and literary figures who disagreed with him. (this protest is air-brushed out of most Western references nowadays, though a brief mention is to be found in an otherwise slavishly pro-Pram article in the Economist  http://www.economist.com/node/168819 )

But it’s up to police to enforce that law, not sectarian hoodlums.

    pkiposter PKI thugs

As for their intended targets, which murders are they on about? If it includes DN Aidit, the putative Commissar-in-Chief of the red tyranny the PKI wanted, then no regrets. he got what was coming to him, and what he would have dished out in spades to any freedom-loving Indonesian who got in communism’s way. That’s what communists do. That was why they were smuggling in weaponry –  those 10,000 rifles from their Beijing pay-masters!

But if it’s the many poor folk gulled into the PKI’s labour and peasant front groups, who were culled mercilessly in the aftermath of the failed kudeta, then, yes, remember them, as victims, in reality, of the PKI, whose lies they fell for and thus made themselves marked men, and women.

    • anti_communism_by_leandrotr Indonesia routed the Reds in 1965

The blades and bullets that killed those simple folk were used by anti-communists, cruelly, but besides the physical guilt of the people who took them out, there’s surely a moral guilt too.

The victims would not have been in the firing line had they not been propagandised into becoming running-dogs for a movement as satanic as they come.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of YPKP 65, Bedjo Untung denied everything. Not a hammer, sickle, nor even the word ‘communism’ had ever been used since his outfit was founded.

Let’s wait and see. The dead are dead and gone. But all too often there is confusion, sometimes deliberate, about those who are still alive.

If Bedjo is interested in the rights of the innocent, people victimised for just being realted to reds, or falsely accused of being reds, fair enough. But if he is claiming that unrepentant PKI traitors should be treated as honest citizens, then he deserves the cold shoulder.

Disgusting to see that any Indonesian would heap praise on the world’s worst tyrant.

Okay, that title is open to dispute.

The Castro Brothers might be in the running for that accolade, and the bloody beast who runs ISIS Land is doing his satanic worst to claim the title.

But the marxist monster in Pyongyang is evil enough.

Certainly, that sad little outfit is representative of nobody but its boss, Rachmawati Soekarnopoetri, and her pinko fan club.

This fanatical old woman is one of the children of President Soekarno, Indonesia’s first president, but has no serious influence here. The Reds of the Indonesian Communist Party, the PKI, were routed fifty years ago and there’s little sign of a come-back.

    • The PKI boss, D N Aidit, back in 1965, was taken out – to no signs of public distress – during the mopping-up operations after his party failed to seize power.

But I guess Rahmawati reads his speeches still, because he specifically held up North Korea as the place he’d most like Indonesia to resemble, if his gang of totalitarian hypocrites had succeeded in their kudeta.

In whatever corner of Hell is reserved for Reds, he’ll be proud of what this clique has done this week.

    Enough said.

Let’s just hope that even the oldest of our readership will live to see Kim share the fate of Aidit, and Ceausescu, and every other rotten commie who ever got what was coming to him.

Jokowi Urges Cops To Protect Minorities – in Depok?

Just watched the local news, and there was President Jokowi, addressing the massed ranks of Indonesia’s Finest, urging police to do more to protect minorities.

    • jokowi-twitter
    • ——————-
    • Nice sentiment, but to hear him say such a thing from a podium in West Java made me wonder if Jokowi was joking.

He hasn’t ordered the cops to enforce the Supreme Court order and unseal GKI Yasmin Church in nearby Bogor, where the congregation has been persecuted by evil Islamist fanatics for years, in defiance of the law.

Every second Sunday, if Jokowi looks out his Presidential Palace window downtown, he can see them worship on the street in protest againt this lawless oppression.

And he was actually speaking in DEPOK, the city where the completely innocent Ahmadi religious minority had its mosque seized by the City Government. https://rossrightangle.wordpress.com/2011/05/25/depok-jadi-kota-pki-islamist-council-grabs-private-property-communist-style/   That authoritarian, sectarian move underlined clearly the way jihadists are a mirror image of the PKI, the banned Indonesian Communist Party.

The Communists are, thanks be, no longer a threat here, but their tradition of hostility to religious freedom lives on in the thinking and actions of those who rule Depok.

It’s a great pity Jokowi evidently feels powerless to over-rule their bigotry!

‘Rise Against This Grand Design!’ Islamist Raves At ‘Red Threat!’

Good old Hidayatullah. com, a fanatical Indonesian website, reports, no doubt approvingly, a call from thug-gang leader Muhsin for a ‘Muslim rising.’

And the spread of jihadist paranoia in this country may be measured by the fact the IslamoNazi FPI leader was sharing a platfom with leading lights from, among others, the two largest ‘moderate’ Islamic organisations in the archipelago, the NU and Muhammadiyah. ( Shohibul Faroji Azmatkhan (NU), Dr. Amirsyah Tambunan (Muhammadiyah),

    • Muhsin-Ahmad-Alatas-1-jpeg.image_1 Muhsin

Muhsin, who’s no stranger to our reports, is all a-fret due to a combination of issues, one of them being the dreary drone about women denied the ‘right’ to don the scarf of subjugation at work.

Since there’s no religious obligation on Muslim women to do so….‘An Archaic Tribal Rag’ – Wise UK Muslim Imam Says ‘Ban the Burqa!’     It’s on the BBC! Bag-Head Bans Do Not Infringe Religious Liberty!    Fiery Islamists – ‘Head-Scarves NOT a Big Issue!’

…we’ll ignore that as a mere token yap, but there’s more to his indignation.

Muhsin reckons there’s a ‘grand design‘ high up, a conspiracy suggested by the fact that ‘many workers’ are prevented from performing Friday prayers.‘ In fact, that’s the headline in Hidayatullah.  http://www.hidayatullah.com/berita/nasional/read/2015/06/24/72850/fpi-di-indonesia-banyak-karyawan-sulit-shalat-jumat.html

Companies with non-Muslim directors even stoop to scheduling meetings that Muslim staff must attend when they should be toddling off to the mosque!

One thing’s for sure, if you go to certain government offices on Friday mornings, you may find yourself in for a long wait, because they double their usual hour of absence from their desks at lunchtime.

Pray during their own mid-day break? Not a chance! They expect, and get, extra time at the tax-payers’ expense, not so devout that they’ll forego a good guzzle/gossip session to make time for God.

But what IS the gang leader on about?

After our recent post on Amidhan, one of the senior members of the self-styled ‘scholars’ in the MUI, who fears the emergence of a ‘new-style communism..’

    Amidhan-MUI-2011 Amidhan

Top ‘Scholar’ Warns of Red Peril – If ID Cards Omit Your Creed!

…now the IslamoNazis are getting all het up too, linking the President’s name with the hated PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party, whose attempted kudeta in 1965 led to a nationwide bloodbath.

Thanks to Rimanews.com, we learn that Muhsin’s Front Pembela Islam – a notorious sectarian gang who regularly commit vandalism and violent crimes – reckons that law enforcement agencies, namely the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), has been trampling the rights of worship of prisoners detained at the detention center KPK KPK Pomdam Guntur branch.

OMG! Well, we’d best pay attention, because  these fanatics are certainly expert in these matters. They delight in trampling the rights of worship of religious minorities.

FPI in West Java – ‘Let’s Burn Out the Orphans!’  – flashback to when one victim of the FPI’s intolerance toldTempo that ‘none of the Ahmadiyah activities conflict with Islamic law…just like anybody else, we just pray, according to the Koran.” He repeated what he told Kompas, that there had been cries of ‘burn the place,’ from the mob.

But let’s not niggle about consistency in matters of religious rights and liberties.

“There are many complaints by prisoners who could not do Friday prayers…this is harassment of the implementation of worship.” .  http://nasional.rimanews.com/politik/read/20150623/220320/FPI-Revolusi-Mental-Jokowi-Gerakan-PKI

As noted, Muhsin is not unknown to RRA readers. But not as a rule because of his interest in people’s rights.

IslamoNazi Christmas Warning – Don’t You Dare Disturb Us Bigots!  flashback- Muhsin said that FPI was at ease with certain groups who might raid Christmas attributes in the shopping centers – FPI would not interfere with the sweeping.

    fpi kill busddhist

Oh, yeah, and don’t forget the FPI’s overt urge to murder

Muhsin spot-lighted the “Mental Revolution.” That’s the election slogan coined by President Jokowi, but while most of us took it to mean  making the nation more forward-thinking, in terms of economic etc. progress, Muhsin has his own interpretation –

‘…the administration of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Jusuf Kalla echoes the PKI and the communist movement, because it is considered the nation will progress if people break away from the shackles of belief and religious rules and godliness.

I’m more anti-communist than just about anyone else in the world. Jokowi and JK do not conceivably subscribe to that evil ideology.

    But how about that godliness?

FPI-style? Who’s On Da Booze? Mall Brawl Gangsters “Are An Asset!?!”

If anything, many of those who supported Jokowi are worried that he has not unsealed churches shut down by bigots like Muhsin, nor repealed the discriminatory anti-Ahmadi decree.

But Muhsin marches to the sound of a very different drum.

“It’s already come to pass that one can get an ID card without one’s religion recorded on it…

Oh, yeah, Amidhan had the same hang-up. But it REALLY stokes Muhsin’s revolutionary fervour.

“If the Commission is actually doing this, then it is time that Muslims should rise up. Don’t let Muslims in Indonesia become orphans in their own country,” he said.

Unfortunate choice of analogy, maybe, given those Ahmadi orphans mentioned above!

There are probably few bloggers more anti-communist than I am. And I do focus on the comsymp elements here in Indonesia, notably in the English-language media.

Jakarta Globe Promotes PKI Sympathiser’s Propaganda!

But I don’t reckon there’s any clear and present danger, not the way there was in 1965, when the totalitarian hypocrites of the PKI, Communist Party of Indonesia, staged their attempted kudeta.,

That happily failed, but sparked a nationwide blood-bath, many victims of which were poor uneducated workers and peasants gulled into PKI fronts by unscrupulous marxist propaganda.

But I had to laugh out loud when I read the outburst from Amidhan, Chairman of the state-sponsored Islamist ‘scholars’ outfit, the MUI.

    • ——————————-
    • Amidhan-MUI-2011 Amidhan

He was addressing a meeting in Bekasi (one of the most fanatic-dominated areas in the country ) and warned his audience that there was a new-style communist threat to the country.

And what signs had he discerned to support his fears?

“It is no exaggeration to say we should be wary of this talk of the elimination of the religion column in the ID card…”

Yeah, he actually said that! He’s alarmed that non-religious people, atheists, would also be allowed…”.

Allowed…like, uh, somebody who happens to be atheist or agnostic should not be allowed to have an ID card (which here is essential for many purposes)  or does he recognise that everyone has the right to an ID card but expects that non-religious people should have to lie and pretend they are religious?

In fact, we’ve covered the ID card issue before…

    • freedom-of-religion
    • ———————————–
    • …and while atheists might have problems, there’s a lot more of a problem with the shameful discrimination against Indonesian religions, the old creeds of the archipelago, not the imported ones like Islam, Buddhism or Christianity.
    • There was a terrible fuss back in the 1970s when Javanese kepercayaan, traditional mysticism, almost got the status of religion and could have been listed on citizens’ ID cards –  sectarian crackers were scared their flock might desert in droves!
    • —–.
    • Sad to say, given previous MUI rants – Indonesia’s Arrogant Islamists – “Non-Denominational Belief Is Not a Religion!”    – it does seem as if the so-called ‘scholars’ believe the ‘godless’ have no right to enjoy any rights of citizenship.
    • —————
    • Iniquitous, of course, as bizarre as the notion that because some folks are not ‘religious,’ they must be Reds.
    • There was much more to Amdihan’s harangue, naturally, but it is even less persuasive than this ID card tripe.
    • If you feel like reading it, use Google Translate on this link to the Islamist site – http://www.hidayatullah.com/berita/nasional/read/2015/06/03/70996/kebangkitan-komunis-gaya-baru-dan-aliran-sesat-dinilai-bukan-lelucon.html  – which is about the only one that seems to have covered it.

Jakarta Globe Promotes PKI Sympathiser’s Propaganda!

Once again, the Jakarta English-language media shows its Red slant, a huge article by a notorious Australian Marxist, Vannessa Hearman, in the Jakarta Globe.

She has a consistent record of pro-communist ranting, and the JG lets her do it again, whining about capital punishment, her key-note grudge being the execution of some PKI traitors over forty years ago.

     Comrade Hearmancommunism tyranny

She refers to those Indonesian Communist Party minions as ‘political prisoners’ – as if PKI apparatchiks were anything other than totalitarian hypocrites seeking to enslave their country.

This woman is so far left she even stood as a Socialist Alliance candidate in Victoria (Brunswick seat) although the wise citizens of Brunswick gave her a stunning 2 percent of their votes!

Okay, nobody will be shaken by the Globe’s eagerness to cosy up with Reds, dead or alive.

I’ve referred more than once to the ‘comsymp creeps in the English-language media…bemoaning the fate of those marxist malignants who survived their failed power-grab fifty years ago!’

But what is really disgraceful about the JG fellow-travellers’ latest collaboration with the worst elements in Australian society to promote their anti-capital punishment agenda is NOT  their PKI sympathies.

It’s how they shamelessly disguise this red bint’s ideological motivation.

Not a single word about what she is, her party card, her political activity, or her commitment to class-war marxist revolution. ‘

Just a sappy little statement that she’s a lecturer in Indonesian Studies at the University of Sydney.   http://thejakartaglobe.beritasatu.com/opinion/commentary-death-penalty-campaign-began-political-prisoners/

Yeah, like they’d say Joe Stalin was a former seminary student.

Besok May Day – Jangan Lupa Pengkhianatan PKI!

Tomorrow, we have a national holiday in Indonesia, May Day, and you can bet your boots the workers will be out in force, a big procession through Jakarta, with lots of speeches and exhortations to flex their ( admittedly none-too-strong ) industrial muscle to improve their lot.

    • may-day-jakarta-indo May  Day, a few years ago, in Jakarta
    • —————–
    • They are free to protest, to slam the regime, to publish their angry posters and bulletins. They are free to strike too.

About five years ago, things got out of hand on May Day, fighting between demonstrators and police.  It happens – but there was no ferocious crack-down. Some arrests, and that, I think, was that.

    Compare and contrast.

A few hours on a plane takes you to Vietnam, where the ruling junta styles itself, laughably, as a ‘party of the working class.’

But workers in that totalitarian hell-hole have none of the rights that our good lads and lasses on the parade tomorrow enjoy.

No right to strike, no free labour unions uncontrolled by the tyrants, no freedom of the press, no right to parade criticism of the dictatorship.

And OF COURSE no free elections – what Communist oligarchy would risk THAT?

Turned on the news after a while out sunning myself in the front yard, and lo, a wretched spectacle in Saigon – I choose not to use the city’s current name, which honours a despot.

The camera recorded  a cowed people forced to observe their strutting oppressors, the Vietnamese equivalent of the Waffen SS, parading to ‘celebrate’ the Fall of Saigon.

Living in a country which came very close to a Red take-over in 1965, it is always a consolation, whenever frustration sets in at abuses of power by bureaucrats or politicians, to remember how much worse it would be if those evil PKI SOBs had got away with their kudeta.

Yet still today, we have comsymp creeps in the English-language media, on whom we have reported all too often, bemoaning the fate of those marxist malignants who survived their failed power-grab fifty years ago!

Corruption is here, and yes, it’s nauseating. But I’ve heard it said the Vietnam communist cops are the  ‘best police money can buy.’

Injustice, yes, that’s here too. But a free press and the handful of honest pols and the NGOs can raise their voices and fight it.

aidit Aidit, the PKI Fuhrer who adored North Korea

Had that unlamented old hypocrite Pramoedya, and his patron DN Aidit, risen to rule this archipelago, we’d all be in the same endless nightmare that still grips Saigon.

My Indonesian friends and neighbours might even be dragooned onto the streets tomorrow to cheer their oppressors.

Twas President Reagan who called the Vietnam War a noble cause, and so it was. The tragedy was the defeat of ARVN. America and the Allies.

Thank God Indonesia smashed the PKI!

And may the cruel communist clique that holds Vietnam in servitude share their fate some day.
