Instead, we had a pleasant man in middle age talking sympatheitcally about the problems of coloured people.

When was Clarke going to snarl and turn ‘offensive?’

Bored at home on Sunday, I took the trouble to look into the origin of the childish prejudice that some coloured people have about being called ‘coloured people!’

Apparently it’s because such usage implies that ‘white’ is normal and everybody else is therefore not!

Go figure.

What’s the diff?

If  comparison of ‘white’ with ‘colour’ is what provokes infantile tantrums like that currently besetting Awful Amber, then ‘coloured people’ is neither more nor less  provocative than ‘people of colour.’

‘Mulatto’ was the traditional word for somebody of mixed white and black race – were Abbot to be thus addressed, would she explode?

No Love Allowed In Health Care?

Being a fairly healthy fellow most of the time, I haven’t spent a lot of time in hospital since I was a schoolboy.

But I can still remember the kindly nurses, who were efficient but always sweet, addressing us patients as ‘love,’ or ‘dear’ or even ‘darlin…’

I imagine nurses in most countries are similarly nice to those they nurse, whether the patients are children or adults.

When I suffered a minor injury, a year or two ago, the Jakarta nurses certainly were!

But not in Eire, not much longer, if a creepy PC establishment diktat is enforced.

Hallowe’en No More – It’s Canada Thought-Police Day!

My post last night on the scary fairy gang…Hallowe’en In Turdistan? …has attracted many viewers, and some info I’d otherwise not have noticed.

So the least I can do is post again, on what has become of the fun festival that delighted me as a lad in Perth County, Ontario, so many years ago.

Well, it’s been outlawed altogether in one Winnipeg school.

The date 31 October is now being celebrated as “tie and scarf” day, one of four themed costume days the school settled on instead of celebrating Halloween.

But telling little children what to wear on Hallowe’en, or banishing the very name of the popular Canadian event from schools, is bad enough.

University students, at least in my undergrad years, were meant to be encouraged to think for themselves.

To their shame, several advertisers have knuckled under to the yellow-bellied agitprop outfit, including the British Columbian ski resort Whistler Blackcomb.
