BANYAK Cewek Cantik! Fashiontastic, PIM, Jakarta, 7 – 17th April

Another search today for my current Holy Grail, this time down Jalan Panjang, West Jakarta, looking for some helpful computer person to help me instal my Kapersky anti-virus disk.

There’s no slot in my laptop, so how does one insert the disk!

Hence by Busway, to Pondok Indah.

    ………..

PIMMall_culture_jakarta100 PIM by night – I went by day.

    ——

Alas, posh PIM mall, so the pretty things on the info desk assured me, has NO computer stores eecept Electronc City, who in turn assured me they had nobody there who could assist.

Further disappointment awaited me in Hero supermarket, no Mama’s Pork Bacon, which I like best, despite its brand name reminding me of Mama Stasi Merkel, Germany’s arch-traitress!

    oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

‘Woe is me – I can’t get my Kapersky installed!’

Alone and palely loitering, like the knight-at-arms in Keats’ poem, I wandered across the footbridge, to the new section of the mall, hoping there might be somewhere there to turn to.

    There wasn’t!

    Bad news…

But hold on there! Going out is never a bad idea in Jakarta, because something interesting always happens.

    Loud-speaker voices, music…

    ——-

    ooooooooooooooooooooo

    A parade of yummy chicks!

One after the other, striding gracefully down a cat-walk!

And unlike the scrawny whelps who proliferate in Western fashion shows, these were healthy, normal, very attractive gals…

    …………..

    silhouetee

    —————-

… especially the one clad in a short, white, tight dress who was – in my view – the star of the line-up, at least around noon today, Saturday.

    And it’s not just girls.

There were also men’s and kids’ fashions on display, but I did not linger for those. I don’t have any interest in dressing fashionably and with offspring full-grown, none either in children’s clothing.

But if I need to meet up with friends next week, or any time before 17th April, my favoured rendezvous point will be PIM.

Bravo, Polisi Jakarta! Tapi Jangan Malas Tembak Banyak Lagi!

Good to see Jakarta Police shot dead a ‘notorious’ thug identified by his victim after a brutal rape and robbery in broad daylight!

I sometimes have to criticise the constabulary here, usually for being soft on anti-social hoodlum gangs like the IslamoNazi FPI…  http://megapolitan.kompas.com/read/2013/06/07/10534748/Bentrok.dengan.FPI..,

…but  when they do a fine job, credit where credit is due.

    • congratulationssuperjobIndonesian_National_Police_General's_Visor_Hat
    • The poor young lady the beast attacked was on her way home at 4.30 pm on one of those pedestrian bridges over a busy road near Pondok Indah, where I happened to be this very morning.

Going to and fro after dark can be dodgy in any city ( though  I should say Jakarta is probably a lot safer than London) but late arvo on a Saturday?

    Shocking.

But just as we have to hear when scum get taken out in the West (think Ferguson, Missouri Darren Wilson, No Case to Answer – So Quell That Riotous Rabble! ) already some ‘expert’ is yelping at the cops.

Bambang Widodo Umar, an expert from the University of Indonesia, criticized the police’s actions in killing ITH.
“The police are allowed to open fire at a crime suspect with the intention of paralyzing but not killing,” he said.

    ——

No photo in the JP, so I found this

    ——–

Strangely, the Jakarta Post declines to tell us what exactly Bambang is ‘expert’ in! Shedding tears over vermin?

According to Bambang, had the police found the suspect more quickly, they could have received accolades. The shooting, however, might now taint the achievement.

Hate to say it, Bambang, but you’re wrong!

Accolades will be forthcoming, from Jakartans of all walks of life, not least those who knew the deceased, again not clearly identified in the JP report, except by those initials ITH, as a notorious thug dreaded by local residents, including vendors near the bridge.

The brute tried to kill one of the arresting officers with a machete, but that doesn’t stop Bambang burbling on.
“In fact, the police shot him to death in an imbalanced situation, in which the suspect tried to fight against a number of officers alone,” Bambang said. http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2015/11/28/alleged-rapist-pedestrian-shot-dead-resisting-arrest.html

So? Are we meant to award ITH brownie points?

    • Having added my own little song of praise to the many voices all over town undoubtedly applauding these policemen…

    congratters

….I would only add that it would be nice to see similar action by the polisi here when they come under sustained and vicious assault by evil sectarian thugs.
