G30/PKI? Today’s Marxist Threat Is CRT!

Interesting to note how the notorious Indonesian Red conspirator Syam, even in 1965, was using the deceitful word ‘progressive…’

    .

….to describe his PKI subversive forces, as big a lie then as it is today!

    https://www.city-journal.org/political-leftists-progressives

Trans TV sometines has movies worth watching, enjoyable action like Taken, repeats, but never mind.

However, last night, a film WELL worth watching.

    Pengkhianatan G30S/PKI
Lobby card, showing five main characters and the text "Penumpasan Pengkhianatan G 30 S PKI" as well as a scene from the film

    Original poster

Very old, but its obvious old-fashioned technical production made it all the more authentic, a record of the evil that the PKI..

( with the eager assistance of Red China, where communist cruelty….Red China – A Hundred Years, A Billion Tears?..still rules today)..

    …inflicted on Indonesia.

The Communist Party of Indonesia would have inflicted infinitely more, had the marxist take-over been successful.

    ..

Don't burn booksa 1965 demo by the totalitarian hypocrites of the PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party, in the heart of Jakarta.

    ..oooooooo

Much is made by present-day left media of the large death-toll, and indeed I wondered on a previous anniversary…

    Jakarta Media And 30 September

…if the Jakarta English-language media will be up to their usual nonsense this weekend, that annual (or even more often!) muddying of the historical waters on the anniversary of the 30th September 1965 put-down of Communist subversion.

Jakarta Post – Never Miss a Chance to Re-Hab Reds!

….and many, besides the communists ( who got what was coming to them!) did die, many simple dupes, recruited by PKI propaganda into peasant and labour fronts.

Less innocent fronts also existed, like the ‘intellectuals’ in LEKRA, one of the worst being Pramoedya, whom we’ve discussed before….

Kompas TV Talk-Show Exalts PKI Collabo Pramoedya!

Tempo, issue May 16-22, 2006 – an extract which explains why some 25 “prominent literary figures and cultural observers” put their distinguished names to a formal submission to the Magsaysay Award Committee in 1995, protesting at that body’s decision to give Pramoedya an award.

    =

Their reasons were simply stated, viz his unethical role during one of the darkest periods for creativity during the Guided Democracy era, when he led the persecution of artists and literary figures who disagreed with him.

(this protest is air-brushed out of most Western references nowadays, though a brief mention is to be found in an otherwise slavishly pro-Pram article in the Economist  http://www.economist.com/node/168819 )

    —-

When the red vermin failed, some found sanctuary under the protection of their sponsors, the Chinese Communist Party….

    .

    ..

…who are still around, spruced up a bit, but as the people of Hong Kong will surely confirm…

    ..

    Spot the difference! Clue, moustache!

Today’s Question – Is Beijing Better At Hiding Virus Data Or Gulag Gang-Rape?

    .. just as demonic.

A good film, and a good reminder, but that old kind of marxism is unlikely to re-emerge.

What is ravaging civilised countries today is a plague, called cultural marxism.…

    .

    Patrisse Cullors.jpg

Comrade Cullors…a key figure in the revolt against civilisation…

    “We are trained Marxists.”
    — Cullors, BLM co-founder

In the West its worst variant is called ‘critical race theory…’

    The truth?

Parents in Loudoun and Fairfax counties in Virginia aren’t old-line racists and segregationists but educated, affluent and diverse citizens in the elite suburbs surrounding Washington, DC.

Contrary to the narrative about white families lashing out against an influx of black students, Loudoun County has roughly the same proportion of blacks as it did 20 years ago; the highest rate of population growth has been among Asians and Latinos, who, according to a recent Rasmussen poll, oppose critical race theory by a two-to-one margin — the same as white voters.

In nearby Fairfax County, the leader of the parent opposition is an Indian-American woman, Asra Nomani, who has blasted critical race theory for reducing academic standards and discriminating against high-performing Asians… https://nypost.com/2021/09/27/left-leaning-medias-latest-lies-about-critical-race-theory/

    .

…a toxin designed to turn societies into cauldrons of hate and resentment.

It’s been a few years since I taught at local universities.

Back then I saw little sign of cultural marxism…

    …but in today’s high schools?

What kind of stuff is oozing into English lessons as ‘current affairs’ reading material?

Hogwash about the racist BLM and so-called ‘racial justice?’

Black Lives Matter co-founder tweets about killing “men and white folks”

    Who knows?

    But best beware!

      I watched it too!
With so many films that set out to be hostile to anti-communism, this was a welcome change.

      But the censorship?
Not from when it was made fifty years ago butfrom the government censors today, was almost embarassing, the stupid blur slapped over the nude statue in the Istana, and even stupider, were there really blurs slapped on lit cigarettes? So we could see the horribly tortured generals but not a Greek goddesses bum?
      Somebody needs to grow up!

        You are correct, Jim.
It is so senseless this censoring. They censor like we are all little children.
Our censors in the 1960s censored communists.
        Now they censor harmless statues.

I saw some of that but it was a very long film and it all happened before I was born..

I was reading about the story in the local papers here (English language) and what you say about them is true. The editorial line is very anti-Suharto which I understand but why are they so soft on the PKI?

Trumpophobic Jakarta Post? Time To Pull The Plug!

There are a number of uptight Trumpophobe Americans in Jakarta and they no doubt will have been delighted to read the ‘opinion” in the Jakarta Post earlier this month…

    https://www.thejakartapost.com/academia/2020/09/14/america-we-love-you-but-youre-bringing-us-down.html

…actually, more a long-drawn-out whine than an ‘opinion,’ from its deputy editor, a geezer named M. Taufiqurrahman.

This hack witters about his ‘love’ for America…

’America, we love you, but you’re bringing us down…’

But it’s a very conditional love, which depends, it seems, on whether or not Americans vote as this undistinguished Indonesian pinko journo thinks fit and proper.

He even takes a side-swipe at President Jokowi….

…if anything, the Trump government’s “inspire-hope” campaign very much looks like…

    .

…what the administration of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attempted when allocating $5.2 million to pay influencers to promote Indonesia’s tourism industry, which has been battered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like, what’s that got to do with America?

Mr. M T, remember, is a senior level J.P. guy, so when he goes on to moan about the poor hard-done-by American left-liberal media…

    .

    .

…quoting their pressure group, the so-called ‘Committee to Protect Journalists’ that President Trump’s rhetoric and actions have discredited the media and threaten democracy in America…

when in fact we know it’s biased left-liberal media that have been making war on democracy there…

    https://nypost.com/2019/10/13/inside-the-medias-relentless-crusade-to-destroy-president-trump/

we are entitled to ask him about the Indonesian media he himself is part of, notably the Jakarta Post and its parent company, Gramedia.

    .

M Tauf should be offering an ( albeit belated)  denunciation of Gramedia’s outrageous collaboration in a Nazi-style book-burning.

Jakarta Post Against Book-Burning – If The Books Are Leftist

…and of his Jakarta Post’s nauseating double-standard, bemoaning arson of leftist books but abjectly failing to issue any editorial condemnation of that Hitlerian scene in the photo above!

    Instead, get this leftist drivel!

Looking at how things are going in America right now, people who are convinced that America could be the force of good are now getting really worried.

True, because Trump is still slightly behind the ever further leftwing Dems!

    But that’s not Tauf’s meaning!

The US has been fraught with problems ranging from racism and economic inequality to militarization of its society, but we feel it has now reached its breaking point.

    Racism?

    .

Thompson shouted. “F*** your motherf***ing peace, white racist motherf***ers!

Major Party Candidate Exposed As Racist Hate-Beast – BBC Silent!

Yes, the vicious BLM bigots are a problem.

As for economic inequality, we must acknowledge that bad billionaires are a blight on American society, Soros being one obvious example…

    .

    .

…but not to forget the many other malign magnates funding Biden’s hefty war-chest.

Stripping them of their wealth and spreading it among the humble, honest, patriotic people who like Trump?

    Sure!

As to ‘militarisation of its society,’ one is at a loss to know what he’s wittering about…

    .

    .

….unless it’s the violence of the red nazi antifa hoodlum movements.

Back to the Trumpophobe, Tauf, whose confessions are moving.

I can say from personal experience that loving America is difficult.

This is so, apparently, because he got a speeding ticket in 2008, while rushing to celebrate Obummer the racist’s election victory….

    .

    .

…which he describes as one of America’s greatest political achievements…

    Yeah, right!

But nowadays, Tauf’s got his knickers in a right, sorry left, twist, because, and here’s the accurate measure of  this JP man’s bitter leftism…

this November, if voters in the Midwest make another wrong choice, it would be impossible to love America. –

    https://www.thejakartapost.com/academia/2020/09/14/america-we-love-you-but-youre-bringing-us-down.html.

Actually, I love Indonesia, and that’s despite awful things here, like the FPI…

    .

    ..

…and the obsession among some of the so-called ‘intelligentsia’ with attempts to rehabilitate the unlamented red vermin of the PKI.

    .

Jakarta Post – Never Miss a Chance to Re-Hab Reds!

One hopes Mr. T will not stop loving his own country if Indonesians don’t follow the august advice of a callow Jakarta Post deputy editor on how to vote.

About the same proportion of Americans as Indonesians read this little blog of mine. It’s free and I hope they enjoy it.

    BUT..

It’s high time those who actually waste their money subscribing to Tauf’s newspaper start UNSUBSCRIBING!

If they want a good spread of local news, they’ll get a better standard of reporting in Tempo!

As for overseas news, there’s plenty out there, and the JP uses so much agency stuff, why not read actual overseas media?

It would be nice to see Tauf’s leftist rag flushed down the toilet!

    BOYCOTT the Jakarta Post.

Ross, just like you I love Indonesia but when work made me leave Jakarta the one thing I never missed was that Jakarta Post.
MT sounds like a typical JP lefty.
I stopped buying it a long time ago and not a chance I would pay a cent to subscribe. Tempo is much better quality journalism just as you say.

Kompas TV Talk-Show Exalts PKI Collabo Pramoedya!

To please my guest yesterday, I tuned into Kompas TV for the news in Indonesian, catching up on local activities, and left that channel on, once my guest was gone.

About 3pm, there began a talk show about a film being made about one of the works of a villainous old leftist, infamous here among those acquainted with the PKI, the Communist Party of Indonesia, for his shameless collaboration with that evil movement.

    .

    .

Pramoedya was the king-pin of LEKRA, a typical red front gang, and we can only wonder at Kompas TV for its failure to include any critics of a man who can at best be described as a fellow-traveller.

    =

There were tons of photos of the old red brute smiling genially. There were also a variety of people taking part, none of them familiar to me, except One, who I believe to be a well-known film producer.

Nobody was there to denounce him as he was denounced 25 years ago.

Tempo, issue May 16-22, 2006 – an extract which explains why some 25 “prominent literary figures and cultural observers” put their distinguished names to a formal submission to the Magsaysay Award Committee in 1995, protesting at that body’s decision to give Pramoedya an award.

….so will not go on and on about the PKI…

I only wish to remind readers, that, while some people here get excessively worked up about the unlikely event of a Communist revival….

Inconsistent Agitation? Woe To Jakarta Commuters!

…other people seem determined to rehabilitate reds who don’t deserve rehabilitation.

PS I read one of Pramoedya’s books once and it was a depressing experience!

It’s always been bad, since we used to call the Jakarta Post the Havana Post.
There is a kind of clique that deep down is still a bit broken up about the PKI not taking power.

It’s not just an Indonesian thing. We have the same in our country, ‘intellectuals’ who think they are smarter than the rest of us.

I do not understand why any Indonesian would want to exalt a mean supporter of the communists like this Pramoedya.
We have many problems but we are not trampled under the boots of communist police like Hong Kong is.
Good point you make about the religious extremism. They use communism just as a stick to beat President Jokowi unfairly.
Even so, we better never to forget the crimes of the PKI and their friends like Pramoedya.
PS I also try once to read a Pramodeya book, but I was not able to finish reading, so boring and depressing.

Jakarta Post’s Red Re-Hab Campaign – Enter An Atma Jaya Prof!

    From red bogey to anti-intellectualism

    • That’s the headline in the Jakarta Post, 19th May, above an article by some geezer described as a professor at Atma Jaya University, which non-locals won’t know is the Catholic university here.
    • ——-
    • communism tyranny

    ————–

    • I dare say the late and much lamented Polish Pope may, as I type, be sitting in an honoured place above, discussing the Jakarta Post with his fellow-Pole, Father Popieluszko, murdered by the Red secret police –

    • …and perhaps with Hungary’s Cardinal Mindszenty.

Or with the many Balkan Catholics slaughtered by the Communists there.  Vatican Recognizes 38 Albanian Christian Clergy Martyred by Communism.

       —————–
    • Catholic parents paying hefty fees for their young to attend Atma Jaya should also peruse Setiono Sugiharto’s piece, and ask what sort of stuff their kids are being exposed to.
    • That depends, of course, on whether they can understand what the hell Setiono’s rabbiting on about!
    • It’s VERY hard work grappling with a vocabulary utterly alien to normal people.
    • …people today have become multi-literate and multi-modal, artistically blending linguistic elements with other semiotic resources and modalities such as symbols, imagery, sound and graffito to carry out successful verbal and non-verbal communication.

I have been following your commendable resistance to this Jakarta Post campaign and must congratulate you on your latest chapter! Your quotations from Senor Fontova’s writings are always welcome reading.

I too suffer a wave of nausea when I see some teenager wearing those Che Guevara tee-shirts, even although 90% of them very probably have no idea of his maniac record.
A real shame they don’t use that picture of Cardinal Mindszenty, who unlike Guevara was both good and brave, a prisoner of conscience who, you would think, is a much better role model for the young Catholics in that Atma Jaya University.

What is wrong with the editorial board at the Jakarta Post?
I suppose most of them are far too young to even remember 1965 and they only have a red-rose tinted version from their parent’s generation to base their beliefs about what it was all about. Indonesia was lucky to escape PKI rule. It would have been at least as bad as what happened in Vietnam after 1975. The Post would most certainly not be publishing criticism of the government if Mr. D N Aidit had gotten control of the country.

It makes me think they’ve picked up their bias from university teachers and so your post does answer my question. That’s what is wrong with them.
It’s the same in our Canadian colleges, lecturers so far twisted to the left that they can hardly stand up straight.,

I don’t think these old PKI communists are any threat to Indonesia today, Ross. They should just be left to their own devises.
Trying to make them say sorry as you suggest is no different from dragging 90 year old concentration camp guards into court. They can say they’re innocent all they like but whether they’re telling the truth or not, they won’t last long anyway.
But you are right about Gramedia, they should apologise for the book burning.
