Just Outa Jail, Now It’s DEATH Threats?

Remember this fellow, with the unusual name (for an Indonesian!) whom we have discussed before?.

“Unjust people, I will look for you one by one. I will kill you, no matter how many you are, for betraying Habib Rizieq, I will kill and I will destroy.. “

    Rizieq the Fanatic

..I will kill them one by one.”

And if, like any sane person of any creed, you are appalled…

    …well, his audience was not!

“Allahu Akbar,” cheered the participants, in a mosque for a ‘Prophet’s Birthday’ celebration, in Bekasi, just across the Jakarta city limits.

Needless to say, this video has received much attention

Smith the Fanatic’s lawyer has said his client’s fury dates from when his hero Rizieq returned from exile – self-exile, accurately- in Saudi Arabia…

    Rizieq the Fanatic

…as if that excuses the blood-curdling rant.

Most decent Indonesians probably take the view of Ruhut Sitimpul, a politician from the moderate PDIP party.

Don’t feel that because you are already a prison alumnus you are a champion!”

    PS –

It seems the video also featured an admiring Sobri Lubis.

    Remember HIM?

    Just watch the video-

    – which shows him issuing his call for his devout audience to ‘Bunuh, Bunuh, Bunuh (KILL KILL KILL!) Ahmadis, a peaceful, utterly inoffensive religious minority

They seem to sing from the same song-sheet!

Top Jakarta Cops Broken Hearted? Maybe NOT?

    Here’s a jolly Jakarta tale!

Imagine if an imprisoned fanatic issued a call from behind bars, telling all his fans never to invite you to any get-togethers they might decide to organise.

Would you cry yourself to sleep at night because you’re facing ostracism by all sorts of sectarian extemists?

    Possibly not?

    Me neither!

However, I can’t speak for the targets of the wrath of Rizieq The Fanatic…

For more background on Rizieq, just put his name in the ‘Search’ box, but be prepared for plenty of entries!

    • FPI ‘grand imam, Habib Rizieq, who condemned Jakarta’s then-Governor Ahok for unacceptably quoting some Koranic verse –.
    • We encourage the government to process the death penalty for Ahok as soon as possible,” said Rizieq
    •  http://www.suara.com/news/2016/10/14/134313/
    • ……

…a famously gentle soul, who has sent out a call to – all habaib, ulema, kyai, da’i, Islamic leaders and people…

‘Don’t invite Fadil Imran and Dudung to any event. If there is an event attended by Fadil and Dudung, then just disperse…!!’

Rizieq is in a tizzy because he claims those senior policemen were ‘involved’ in the demise of six members of his white-shirt vigilante gang…

    ….the self-styled ‘Islam Defenders Front, ‘ the FPI…

…an outfit known  – before they were banned – for their peaceful, responsible approach…

FPI in West Java – ‘Let’s Burn Out the Orphans!’

    ..to all kinds of concerns!

Rizieq’s got numerous fans, who will undoubtedly comply with his touching appeal.

    There’s Sobri Lubis…

    Just watch the video-

    – which shows him issuing his call for his devout audience to ‘Bunuh, Bunuh, Bunuh (KILL KILL KILL!) Ahmadis, a peaceful, utterly inoffensive religious minority

    …..and there’s Novel Bakmunin…

Novel has featured here before, for enlightened statements which bring much credit to his cause.

“…women already have limitations, let alone non- Muslims!”

    ………and of course there’s Rizieq’s charming son-in-law…

    Habib Muhammad Hanif Al-Athos

Never mind, I don’t care. The virtual world says the young person was a  terrorist, I don’t care what they say, Brother….we are Muslims, the young person is a hero, Brother. Allahu akbar, that’s right,” shouted Habib Hanif.

That link translates as ‘Habib Rizieq’s Son-in-law Says Beheader in France Is a Hero’

Well, as said already, I can’t speak for the top cops concerned, but for my part, it would be utterly devastating…

…were I to be black-listed socially by distinguished paragons of enlightenment such as the gentlemen named above.

Be careful, some readers might not realize that you are ‘taking the p-ss’ as Brits say.

Who the hell would want to be in the same room as any of these men?

Two Cops Wounded, But Jakarta Fanatics Dispersed!

After we warned of traffic chaos in Jakarta due to the fanatics antics on Friday..

Fanatic’s Fans To Cause Jakarta Traffic Hell Again?

…our prophetic powers were proven yet again, but I was far away in the south of the city, having a nice late lunch with two nice people…

….in a very pleasant resto I’d not visited before.

Meanwhile, up by the Horse Statue ( actually of the legendary hero Arjuna)..

…two cops were injured by thugs wielding ‘sharp weapons,’ but their colleagues managed to arrest ‘a number of people.’

Traffic was of course seriously disrupted, but eventually, the fanatics slithered off home.
     began to disperse.

Needless to say, their main demand, that Rizieq the Fanatic be released, went unfulfilled.

The ‘Grand Imam’ of the self-styled ‘Islam Defenders Front’ is still securely held in police detention, and will remain so, until next year – not as long as it sounds, yeah?

PA 212 will have a large demonstration at the Presidential Palace, Friday (18/12/2020).

As one of my commenters advised me, that ANAK banner refers not to ‘Children’ but to the Anti-Communist National Alliance.

As a lifelong anti-communist, I find it mildly embarrassing that these people use such a term, especially when the government of President Jokowi is about as far from being communist as can be!

As for real children, I am looking at an article in a local newspaper, about how some very unwholesome ‘teachers’ are trying to use their classrooms as indoctrination centres.

    More on this next week.

Fanatic’s Fans To Cause Jakarta Traffic Hell Again?

And once again, deliberately staging their demo ‘action’ on a working day rather than a Sunday, the followers of Rizieq the Fanatic are likely to cause major disruption to decent citizens of all creeds trying to go about their lawful business.

Jakarta Facing Another Fanatic Friday – and Thursday…and Besok?

    Not for the first time!

Even in the current situation, caused by the Chinese Virus, traffic can get bad in Jakarta.

It seems those notorious sectarians, the ‘Alumni,’ aka PA 212, are going to hold their demo outside President Jokowi’s State Palace tomorrow….

…demanding the release from detention of Rizieq the Fanatic, the ‘grand imam’ of the infamous self-styled  ‘Islam Defenders Front……’

    ….after Friday prayers!’

    That’s 1pm tomorrow!

0000000PA 212 will have a large demonstration at the Presidential Palace, Friday (18/12/2020).

On the poster there’s a cheery message from Rizieq.

If I am imprisoned or killed, continue the struggle.”

Curiously, the malcontents are saying the main organisers are not the so-called ‘alumni’ but a relatively new outfit on the sectarian scene, ‘Anak NKRI’ – ‘the Children of the Republic of Indonesia!”

I suspect ( and hope!) these ‘children’ will not turn out to be actual little kids but merely a mob of extremists, similar to those who shuffled past the palace a number of years past.

The protesters, most of whom were men dressed in white Muslim attire, were heard yelling, “We want a Muslim governor,” “Burn Ahok!” and “Kafir!”   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/14/thousands-hard-liners

However, having said that, my thoughts strayed to those repulsive chanting brats I wrote about

….when the fanatics’ witch-hunt against the Christian Governor of Jakarta was under way a few years ago.

Fanatic Gang Calls ‘Throat-Slitting’ Video A ‘Hoax!’

They deny it!     Rizieq the Fanatic’s follower’s, that is!

Well, to paraphrase that rather cute 1960s English slapper, Mandy Rice-Davies…

    …they would, wouldn’t they?

Viral Video of FPI Neck Slitting Simulation, Executor in White & Green Gloves
Video clip of FPI’s throat-slitting simulation.

INDOZONE.ID – A video showing a simulation of how to slit the throat allegedly held by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) went viral on social media. The video was also shared by Nikita Mirzani on Instagram….

And here’s the link to that!

There was a stage in the event, which reads FPI and LPI. A number of people appeared on the stage, while others were on the lawn with red soil. There were also cries of ‘Allahu Akbar..’
LPI’ refers to the sectarian vigilantes’ paramilitary wing, the Laskars,’ six of whom were shot last week.

    Rizieq the Fanatic, cuffed!

We are the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) or the LPI (Laskar Pembela Islam),” said a presenter using a loudspeaker. Several people were seen sitting cross-legged on the ground. They act as people who will be slit.

Behind them, there was a man wearing white robes… https://www.instagram.com/p/CIkHpTAnOv2

Then, with props, in the form of a machete, he slaughtered the man who was sitting cross-legged quite deftly one by one.

The demonstration looked as if it were real, because the man who was the one who was slain, floundered after being slaughtered. https://www.indozone.id/news/YvsnojB/mengerikan-fpi-latihan-gorok-leher-manusia-nikita-mirzani-loe-pikir-lebaran-haji?

FPI Say ‘We Got No Guns!’ But Their ‘Military Training?’

‘Fitna’ means slander, and last night, the local TV channels, were at last catching up on the dramatic news of the shootings on the Jakarta toll road.

Jakarta – Six Sectarians Shot Dead, But TV News?

Rizieq the Fanatic’s close comrade, Munarman, was damn near spitting out the accusatory F-word at a televised press conference.

I do try to be fair, even to people I can’t stand, like Munarman…..

    – yes, he who infamously called for people to “hunt down ‘liberals’ in their neighborhoods, to beat on their doors and expel them.”Jakarta Globe 15/3/12

    • ——
    • …invited onto TVOne to discuss FPI’s hoodlum behaviour, Munarman lost the argument and then totally lost his infantile temper, hurling a glassful of water over the mild-mannered academic who’d bested him.

…..so I can say he gave a very different version of events, of which you can read a summary here…

use Google Translate if need be

Moreover, he claimed that Rizieq’s violent vigilante gang, the FPI – the self-styled ‘Islam Defenders Front’ – had no access to fire-arms, though the police have displayed hand-guns taken from those they shot.

We also heard that Rizieq was hiding out, and that several FPI ‘laskars’ had been kidnapped!

It’s important to note that ‘laskars’ in that context means ‘fighters.’

So however they ended up, they had chosen to serve as ‘warriors’ in an extremist cause, and wear paramilitary gear.

The FPI record is infamous, and they’re not at all (except at the moment!) shy about advertising their violent inclinations.

Today there’s been lots more coverage, and inevitably Amnesty International, fresh from demanding suppression of dissent in the Western world…

Amnesty? Shamnesty! Making War On Free Speech!

….has leapt in, prattling about fact-finding.

    Amnesty prattles much too often.

Cur Qureshi and Amnesty – Don’t Say We Weren’t Warned!

I expect many Indonesians, like many observant Western people, will treat Amnesty with the indifference it’s earned.

Another familiar name, which we mentioned only recently, has been heard….

Jakarta Boycott Reality Check? Ask Fadli, Caught Smiling With Trump!

…and he rather subverts his main argument by his laughable initial assertion, viz.

“I strongly believe that the supporters of Habib Rizieq love peace…

    Like at the Monas Riot?

    But he carries on gamely…

“….and are not equipped with weapons.

It must be thoroughly investigated. If it is excessive, then the police have committed abuse of power. Kapolda must be responsible,” said Fadli Zon

But we know  – and Fadli knows – that an officer in the Indonesian armed forces got into a lot of trouble for including the gangster group in his military training course, about three years ago.

In fact, Fadli slammed critics who were questioning the program and FPI’s participation in it….   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2017/01/09/protests-against-military-training-for-fpi-exaggerated-fadli-zon.html

    Fadli Zon

The politician from the Gerindra Party also criticized the military’s decision to strip Lebak military commander of his post for recruiting the FPI in Banten to take the training recently, calling the decision “regrettable”.

But perhaps that military training programme merely encompassed push-ups and cross-country runs!?!

    • Jim Ex Jakarta 22:06 on December 8, 2020 Permalink | Reply

I knew you would find something interesting to bring back into this story, from all the coverage you have given to the FPI over the years.
I had completely forgotten about that scandal when they were out training under army supervision.
I hope a lot of people read this!

    • JazPen 22:40 on December 8, 2020 Permalink | Reply

      Great stuff, Ross.
We need to go back to 2017 and see exactly what kind of military training they were getting.
I’m sure the police remembered and checked out what they might be up against.
If it turns out as I think it turned out, that military training, people need to be reminded of a very relevant fact.
I’m surprised none of the journalists at Munarman’s press conference asked about this.
Maybe there was a dangerous glass of water on the table!

    • Rawel 12:38 on December 9, 2020 Permalink | Reply

I just now read all this and it is true, FPI liked very much to go military training.

Jakarta – Six Sectarians Shot Dead, But TV News?

Very odd the Indonesian tv channels’ low-key approach to dramatic news here today, after no less than six of Rizieq the Fanatic’s ‘suspected sympathisers’ were shot dead on the toll road between Jakarta and Cikampek in West Java.

Four more went on the run!

The 10 people are suspected of being sympathizers of the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab…. https://amp.kompas.com/nasional/read/2020/12/07/14084051/bareskrim-polri-bantu-polda-metro-jaya-buru-4-simpatisan-rizieq-shihab-yang

BTW, we still await news of whether that fanatic showed up  to answer the police summons today!

Fanatics Fail To Show Up. So What Next?

Good to read that the police are getting fed up, viz.

We call on Rizieq and his supporters to refrain from disrupting the investigation process, because doing so constitutes a felony.”

Since one of my regular commenters alerted me not long ago, I have found info on today’s events on both local and foreign news-sites, but on the local tv channels?

Some little text news at the bottom of the screen!

Indonesian security forces do a pretty good job against sectarian evil…

Jakarta Echoes of Gibraltar – How Dare You Kill Terrorists?

…and often get precious little thanks.

Having today tackled fanatic gangsters who were armed with guns and swords, and come out on top, you’d think a bit more recognition would be in order!

According to police statements, the incident started with the Polda Metro Jaya investigation of information in the short message application regarding the mobilization of masses to guard Rizieq’s investigation.. https://amp.kompas.com/nasional/read/2020/12/07/14084051/bareskrim-polri-bantu-polda-metro-jaya-buru-4-simpatisan-rizieq-shihab-yang

Channel News Asia – based in Singapore- provided full coverage at 5pm Jakarta time, including denial of the police account! And they say Rizieq the Fanatic has gone into hiding, ‘for his own safety!’

So I guess he won’t be responding to that summons!?!
