My best guess is that the absurd inclusion of Weltanschauung on an already absurd list was inspired by the far-left Berlin ruling class’s sympathy with Kreuzberg klutzes.

Even when I first visited Berlin in the 1960s, that district was known to be a nest of hippies and freakos, many of them spaced out a lot of the time, and thus with a very weird view of the world.

Concepts such as paying for their needs were alien to their Weltanschauung, hence many buildings there were infested with squatters…

…and many of those were anarchists, not ill-disposed to violent assaults on innocent people going about their lawful business, including police officers.

Others were marxists of various brands.

They were a cancer in Society, but no city government ever made more than sporadic efforts to clean Kreuzberg up.

Whereas resident aliens can apply for citizenship once they have spent a minimum eight years in Germany, the ‘reform’ means that  ‘the years that an immigrant lived under a false identity would no longer count towards the total years required to attain citizenship.’

In other words, the liars CAN get citizenship – they just need to hang aroung longer than honest immigrants.

There’s more, and it’s equally unimpressive.

The so-called ‘reform’ also addresses an issue we have looked at in the context of other countries’ laws.

Bizarrely, at present, ‘babies born in Germany to two non-German parents can typically become citizens if one of their parents has been living in the country for eight years.’

Why, for pity’s sakes?

If one parent is German, no worries, but when two aliens produce another alien, it’s obviously not German.

A cuckoo hatched in a nightingale’s nest remains a cuckoo all its life!

And what’s the big change?

Under the new rules, children would only be granted German citizenship if their parents prove their identity and nationality.

So if mummy and daddy prove they’re both Turkish, or Somali – or Canadian or Estonian, for that matter – then their little darling gets to be German?

She reportedly refused to accept attempts by Interior Minister Horst Seehofer to allow authorities to strip children under the age of five of their citizenship if their parents had unlawfully acquired German citizenship, for instance, by deception.

Germany’s new interior minister is pressing ahead with controversial plans to hold asylum seekers in centres until their right to stay is determined. Under Horst Seehofer’s proposals, migrants are to be kept in so-called “anchor centres” for up to 18 months while their requests are processed.
