NB Team Brexit! Brussels’ Swiss Lackeys War Down Democracy!

I try not to write at immense length, although if you go back to my early blogging days, you’ll see I used to succumb frequently to that temptation.

    ====

However, this article from Spiked.com will give you a good Sunday morning read, which many Brits, if I remember right, DO enjoy very much, in between munching on buttery toast and slurps of coffee.

    ANDREA SEAMAN EUROPE
Even in Switzerland, the EU erodes democracy
How Swiss leaders use the EU to weaken popular sovereignty.

It’s common for Brexiteers to single out Switzerland as the most democratic country in Europe…

    ……

    ……..

…and how the UK could learn from its position vis-a-vis the EUSSR.

But that Swiss democracy would be overnight erased  were it ever foolish enough to  surrender its sovereignty to the Brussels Evil Empire.

And worse, by legislative pandering to the Euro-Commissars, the parliament in Berne is selling out their nation’s heritage of self-determination.

    =

    =

Liar Juncker was actually telling the truth when he warned EUSSR-ruled nation-states not to think for one moment that they had any right to determine their own futures.

    =

    ==

The Spiked piece gives an interesting perspective on the Swiss situation – enjoy reading it if you will.

It’s so wrong how these cheap politicians are prepared to give up Switzerland’s freedoms.
A lot of our states have direct democracy-referendum systems and citizen initiatives too, but the American courts have taken aim at democratic control and told us very loudly that they are not on the side of the American people.

The Founding Fathers would turn in their graves over the way the Supreme Court imposed ‘gay’ marriage. That ruling showed us all how fragile our democracy is.

We can only hope and pray that Donald Trump gets the chance to replace a few more of the worst judges there. .

Spiking the Guns of the Remainiacs!

I have to hand it to these guys and gals.

They took the fight into the belly of the beast – that ridiculous demophobe picnic in a London park – and are certainly stirring it up.

Here with their own report, and I commend them, and recommend readers in the UK to lend support to their efforts.

Invoke Article 50 NOW! is a new campaign for democracy, demanding that the Brexit vote be upheld. And that’s why we were there last night. May has said repeatedly that we must wait to initiate Brexit – until the end of the year, at least. We are demanding action, not just to defend the Brexit vote, but to defend the idea of democracy itself.

We’ve already made headway. Last week we picketed the offices of Mishcon De Reya, the law firm formulating a legal challenge to the triggering of Article 50. On the weekend, we staged a counter-picnic for democracy in Green Park, setting up in the middle of a ‘Picnic Against Brexit’. And our protest last night turned even more heads, gaining coverage in the Guardian, the Mail, and on Channel 4 News.

Sign Up! Honest Lefties Launch Article 50 Petition!

Some readers have asked why I urged support for Spiked.com recently, the ‘good lefties’ as I described them.

Help the Good Lefties! Spiked.Com’s Appeal

In defence of my appeal on their behalf, I append below links to some of their latest output, the mere headings of which give a flavour of their commitment to democratic values.

Just because somebody holds socialist views, it doesn’t mean they can’t be democratic….

    0000000000000000000000000000

    BRENDAN O’NEILL BREXIT
YES, THIS IS A CRISIS: A BRILLIANT CRISIS PACKED WITH POSSIBILITY
Be not afraid of Brexit: it is a wonderful moment for rethinking society.
    TOM SLATER BREXIT
THE BATTLE FOR DEMOCRACY STARTS HERE
We must defend democracy against an elite furious with the referendum result.
    FRANK FUREDI BREXIT
    REVOLT OF THE OTHERS
Britain is effectively Two Nations, and one has just risen up.
    BRENDAN O’NEILL BREXIT
BREXIT: THIS WAS A VOTE AGAINST BIGOTRY, NOT FOR IT
The people have rebelled against the bigotry of the elites.
    ELLA WHELAN BREXIT
AFTER THE REFERENDUM, THE UGLY SCOURGE OF AGEISM
Hating old people has become a socially acceptable prejudice.
    TOM SLATER BREXIT
THE 2,000-YEAR, ONGOING FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY
From Plato to post-Brexit Britain, democracy has always been in peril.

    ooooooooooooooooo

…and what’s more, because somebody holds socialist opinions, it doesn’t mean he or she can’t be a true patriot.

For proof of that, get this!

The Brexit vote was barely two weeks ago, and already sections of the elite
    are conspiring to thwart it.

Legal challenges have been made, MPs have launched schemes to block Brexit
in parliament, and dithering ministers seem determined to delay invoking Article 50 for as long as possible. It is now urgent that we defend the historic referendum result, and the people’s will.

This is why spiked is raising the stakes in the battle for democracy. Our new campaign, Invoke Article 50 NOW!, is demanding that the government enact Brexit immediately.
