IRA murder-gangster
=====================——–
American readers would be horrified if some local US authority ( Dearborn, Michigan, perhaps?) were to rename a kiddies’ play-area in honour of the Fort Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan…yes?
So read on –
==========================================
Raymond McCreesh was a member of the Sinn Fein/IRA terrorist gang – his convictions included attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of firearms with intent to endanger life and IRA membership
In June 2012, McCreesh was linked to the IRA murders of 10 Protestant men by a Historical Enquiries Team (HET) investigation into the 1976 Kingsmills Massacre.
=

… victims were all textile workers who were travelling home from their factory in rural south Armagh when IRA gunmen ambushed their minibus. McCreesh was not convicted of the massacre, but the HET report stated that when he was arrested on another IRA operation, he was caught in possession of one of the guns that had been used in the Kingsmills murders..

This isn’t the first time we’ve looked at this story, but it’s developing.
The Armalite McCreesh was arrested with was also linked by HET to:
l the murders of RUC Constable David McNeice and rifleman Michael Gibson (Royal Jackets) at an ambush at Meigh in 1974;
l the attempted murder of Protestant farmer Samuel Rodgers at Camlough in 1975;
l the attack on a military helicopter and attempted murder of security force personnel at Carrickbroad, Forkhill, in 1976;
l the attempted murder of security force personnel at Mountain House, Belleek, Newry, in 1976, where the Armalite was recovered.

That ‘pan-nationalist’ alliance of Sinn Fein/IRA and the so-called ‘moderate,’ arch-hypocrite SDLP voted to rename a children’s play-park in Newry to honour the blood-thirsty swine .
The SDLP, shamed by a public outcry, have since u-turned.

There’s been an investigation, and now …

With the ongoing consultation process due to close on December 19, UUP councillor David Taylor has called on those opposed to the current name to express their “anger and disgust” to Newry and Mourne Council. Mr Taylor said nationalist and independent councillors now had the chance to “reflect upon the irrational and morally incomprehensible” decision.

Newry and Mourne District Council are undertaking a review of its decision to name Raymond McCreesh Park, and are seeking views in relation to this matter- Raymond McCreesh was a member of the Provisional IRA’s South Armagh Brigade. May we encourage individuals to take a few moments to make a submission on this –
