God V New York Daily News – Civilised Protests Shame Savages!

How often have we had to read about savage ignoramuses ‘offended’ by this or that perfectly legitimate behaviour by other people, and the risk of a violent hoodlum response on the part of the poor ‘offended’ morons?

It’s a petition from AFA. They are Christian activists who do a lot of good work on a lot of issues. That doesn’t mean I endorse all they say or do.

On this occasion, they are up in arms about a headline in the New York Daily News, which asserts that ‘God isn’t fixing this.‘

The NYDN was taking a media pot-shot at conservative Americans joining in prayers after the Islamist atrocity in California.

Typically, the hack behind the front page was exploiting innocent deaths to score points on gun legislation. One is used to that sort of gutter journalism.

But it’s the perceived challenge to God that has upset the AFA.

Personally, I’d have thought that even media pinkos would notice that, if any issue is highlighted by the mass-murder,  it is that of immigration, ineffectual vetting of primitives oozing into America.

• As for God, I have long had some questions about what He decides to fix or not fix.  Whacking all those Egyptian first-born, for example, never did make sense to me.
• In any case, He is powerful enough to handle by Himself anything so puny as a pinko hack’s jibes.

My point is – the AFA show us, remind us, that when you’re offended, on behalf of God or for any other reason, you can react as civilised human beings – peaceful protest.

New Cartoon Uproar- Angry Indonesians Protest And I Agree With Them!

Hell, here we go again, I thought, when I saw the headline.

Stand by for another outbreak of spittle-flecked ululating ignoramuses, more violence and vandalism by sectarian hoodlums around the world who have so little respect for God Almighty that they reckon he’s too weak, all by Himself,  to punish those who offend Him or His prophets.

• Then I saw the cartoon and was damn near spittle-flecked myself.
• Earlier this month, a US newspaper published a cartoon depicting the Indonesian women’s beach volleyball team as apes, with the title “Indonesia wins the World Cup in beach volleyball again.”
• Who the Hell do these obnoxious Danish cartoonists, Mikael Wulff and Anders Morgenthaler, think they are?

• President Jokowi’s Foreign Minister, Retno, has met with US congress members and expressed disappointment, adding that apart from being offensive, Retno said that the cartoon was not based on any facts at all. “… we didn’t participate in the competition.”

Apparently this ghastly insult to Indonesian women, who, I repeat for the millionth time, are among the most beautiful in the world, has been featured in numerous big-name media, including Die Welt in Germany and Norway’s Dagblated.

By way of example of local ladies, I offer some pictures used before but none the worse for a second display.

These are of course celebrities, but you can ask any foreigner living here to confirm the beauty that we encounter every day, everywhere from cheap eateries in kampungs to the poshest malls in town.

It would of course be grossly offensive for any country’s womenfolk to be thus depicted, but to traduce the looks of Indonesian gals in this manner not only affronts but makes us think those cartoonists should pay their optician a visit, pronto!

And BTW, note the civilised form of protest by Indonesia, such a splendid contrast to the mayhem we have seen when much less offensive cartoons have appeared –
