Bye-Bye Rick? Devoured By Those Pesky Zombies?

Yesterday, Sunday, the trailers for The Walking Dead announced sombrely that today’s would be Rick’s final episode.

    .

    walkingdrick

Since last week he was lying there, skewered by a metal paling, with zombies converging for all sides, I had an inkling that such might be the case.

Sad to see him go, but it’s been on the cards for a while, since he soppily refused to execute the wicked Negan after defeating his massed ranks in battle.

He also showed a disturbingly pinko-esque disapproval of Maggie’s smart decision to reintroduce the death penalty for slimy Gregory.

Still, Rick did a sterling job for years, shepherding survivors and fending off the evil dead…

    zombis

    ….so good luck to him!

Your way of looking at this is not unique. In America there is quite a debate about the message that The Walking Dead projects.
I always watch it from the right end of my sofa!
Last week when all those horrors were moving in on poor Rick, It made me think of that Honduras mob moving in on America.

So I watched it and Rick survives agsin.
I hope they clear up all the stuff that is there to confuse us because it will not keep us watching much longer.
And I was disapointed with Maggie. She had her chance to shoot Negan and did not take it.
      Booo!

Alas, Rick Grimes, who has long been the hero of the series, went pinko at the end of last season, and refused to have Negan put to death after defeating his forces in a grand battle.

    Negan and Rick

Negan is steeped in evil, given to clubbing prisoners to death regardless of their innocence or guilt.

Rick was a mug to spare him, and, mark my words, the fiend will escape and cause more trouble.
Rick’s moral decline is made manifest by his evident disapproval of Gregory’s well-deserved fate, so a power struggle is building up.

    PS

I waited till today before publishing this, so all afficionados had time to enjoy Monday’s premiere.

No fun spilling the beans before they too could applaud the sight of Swinging Greg!

I wasnt sure exactly which of Johnson’s many coat-turns you were referring to but I just read about the most recent.
He has publicly backed that pro-Brussels Tory MP Wollaston in Totnes, where real conservatives are trying to get her deselected.

Get back to the real world. Fiction will not save us. As a retired Police Officer I have noticed only too well how the criminals are taking over the world. We need to bring back Capital Punishment and Prison with Hard Labour. Every inch of Prison space should be converted into cells preferably available for solitary confinement. Provide the materials and teach the prisoners to lay bricks or better still concrete blocks. Get rid of probation officers and retrain them to patrol ports and airports to catch illegal immigrants. Check all businesses particularly those owned by immigrants to search for illegal immigrants working in the black economy. If proven the owners should be deported as well as the illegal workers. When will we get a strong Government who puts hard working British People FIRST.? Tom Butcher Police Officer(retired)

TONIGHT in Jakarta! Will ‘The Walking Dead’ Be Worth Watching?

As previously notified, readers who share my enthusiasm for The Walking Dead will be tuned in for the new series, this morning, or, more agreeably, tonight!

Who needs zombies in the morning sun!

    =

    =

My pals and  I, on Saturday, discussed, over three pitchers of Bintang, how dull the previous season’s shows were, all about bands of humans fighting each other…

    =

‘Gosh, I thought we were the star attraction!’

    =

…the poor horror-corpses left as mere extras to lurch about and occasionally chew some wretch to death.

Heck, I remarked, if we only want to watch humans fighting, we can go to Glasgow for a Rangers/Celtic game.

Or else take a look at the illegals encouraged by Merkel to gate-crash Europe!

    =

    =

So let’s wait till tonight and judge what happens.

I know you don’t reveal details so anybody who missed tonight’s can catch the repeat tomorrow but it was an improvement in terms of surprise over last season, if nothing else.

Walking Dead Need A Spring In Their Step!

Two weeks in a row now, The Walking Dead has offered us lack-lustre episodes, a grave (ooops!) disappointment after a good start to the new series.

    =

Who had a bad night then?

    =

And it’s not the zombies fault – they’re as splendidly putrescent as ever!.

That hippy twit who calls himself ‘Jesus’ – had The Original been anything like the poor WD replica, those money-changers would still be doing a roaring trade in the Temple! – currently wants to spare the lives of the wicked Negan gang…

    =

…even to the extent of having a fierce fight with the sensible black guy named Morgan.

Last week vast amounts of time were wasted on introspective breaks, navel-gazing, Rick in a dwam (Scots for day-dream!) imagining a bucolic, idyllic future.

He had a fine opportunity to take out significant baddies, Negan and four of his lieutenants, who foolishly stood there on a balcony to shout at the good guys – it could have been a rifle range, but no shots fired for ages.

At least the reggae style ‘King’ wth his pet tiger is good value, a confident leader.

But I’m not confident WD viewing figures are going to improve if the current pathetic standard doesn’t.

At least we can switch our stay-home evenings to Wednesdays…

Absolutely Brilliant! Zombie Confrontation – A Lesson for Europe?!

So glad I didn’t  look at the preview articles about the latest Walking Dead series. From its 8pm Jakarta start last night, it was more or less non-stop action…

    ………..

     RPG

… the appetiser being when Daryl saved his companions from a nasty biker gang with a handy RPG!

Switch to the good guys’ main HQ, over-run by walkers –  the hard-core of heroes were attempting a break-out, which went awry.

Young Carl gets a stray bullet in the head, rushed to the make-shift infirmary.

    • His dad, leader Rick, is understandably upset, not only Carl wounded but Rick’s chick torn to pieces by the zoms!
    • Incandescent in his wrath, he strides forth with an axe – a lone battler to the death against an evil horde!
    • —-

But lo, not only do his loyal comrades-in-arms spring to his aid, battling side-by-side with Rick against overwhelming odds, but all the other survivors, cowering, barricaded in their homes, are inspired by the small courageous band they can see from their windows.

    They all come charging forth.

NO MORE!   It’ll be repeated and I don’t want to spoil everything for those who missed it!

    oooooooooooooooooooooooooo

But, as so often with The Walking Dead, the horrid walkers made me think of Europe’s plight.

So enthused am I about the return of my fave programme that I’m not even going to read that article. No wish to spoil the fun!

My Mondays have been agreeably filled, in its absence, with the new crime series Bosch. Now it’ll be one after the other – no bad thing to have a guaranteed night in!

Right, I have a good dvd half-watched, The Revenant!

Review tomorrow if it’s worth the effort!

A Question of Road Safety – Walking Dead Or Migrant Menace!?!

I watched the new season of The Walking Dead last night, as promised, and it was excellent, HORDES of horrid zombies on the march, with the good guys (and gals – that sexy black chick with the samurai sword, Michonne, is a wow!) fully engaged in derring-do against them.

    ====================

But in searching for a suitable review, I learned that the show has turned into a political issue of sorts, with us conservatives being fans and muesli-guzzling pinko gits from the left-lib elite expressing fear and loathing of its content.

    How weird!

Who could dislike brave Michonne, or Darryl, with his Harley Davidson and cross-bow?

    • Quite a few, it seems.

For my part, I just enjoy the action, and like to use scenes from it to illustrate blog-posts.

Mind you, it does evoke the menace facing Europe, all those unpleasant creatures marching north, threatening civilisation.

Rick’s survivors in Virginia have been building a wall to keep the undesirables out – maybe they could deploy their skills in the Balkans, or Calais?

    Enough already!

The meat I hauled home from Oz will soon be past its sell-by date, so best resume my own flesh-eating activities!

    ===================

    • PS – why miss an opportunity to include a photo of Rosita, the yummy Hispanic character, though in the WD she does NOT dress like this!

My awakening is being facilitated by an article in Fortune magazine, which has a go at everyone involved in the Greek crisis, but especially delighted me with this paragraph, exposing the bloated hypocrisy of at least one of those who rant and rave about plutocratic privilege.

‘End privilege of ship owners, military and church’ …

…former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, who delivered a clinical and damning analysis (posted here on Verhofstadt’s Facebook timeline and well worth a read) of how Tsipras might have spent the last five months better, namely by passing concrete measures to end the clientelism that has rotted Greece’s political system for years.

    • 6e6cb-hypocrisyofoursociety
    • Fine sentiments indeed. A shame, then, that such a good lecture on clientelism should have to come from someone whose career on the Brussels gravy train has resulted in emoluments of over 12,000 euros a month from various interests such as a Dutch pension firm, a Belgian investment company and the European Institute of Public Affairs.

In case of zombie apocalypse, the most important thing is to know what you're working with. Identify your tools and figure out what type of undead you're up against. You might be prepared to tear a zombie in half with a machine gun. Effective against a 28 Days Later zombie. Not so effective for a Romero zombie. Which conveniently brings us to the list: Crawler - These are often zombies torn in half by stupid people with machine guns who don't get the "destroy the brain" concept, but these can also be zombies who had accessibility issues in life. They don't move very fast, but if you forget to look down, you'll regret it. Shambler - In all likelihood, this is the sort of zombie you'll be up against. Remember: you move faster than they do. Aim for the head. And if you're going to back yourself into an alley, make sure it's well-stocked with ammo. Walker - Despite the sneak-attack powers of the crawler zombie, the Walkers are the sneakiest of the bunch. That's because they look normal. Maybe slightly green. As if they have the stomach flu. And you're all, "Oh hey, Bob. How're you doing? You wanna help me with the.... OH MY GOD!!! YOU'RE NOT BOB!!!" We recommend offing all your friends named Bob now to avoid the problem in the future. Runner - Nitpickers will point out that these are often not actual zombies but infected humans. Others will point out that the nitpickers probably aren't currently being chased by said zombies and so should shut their traps. Thriller - The dangerous thing about Thriller zombies is their coordination. Sure, any other type of zombies will eventually gravitate to form a mob, but Thriller zombies will eat your brains as a matching synchronized horde. Tee on Duxter.com

    In case of zombie apocalypse..

And that photo reminds me of why, despite the absence of the dreary working week that used to enslave me, Fridays still carry a certain thrill.

They’re when Fox cable tv has a mid-evening horror series, currently Wayward Pines, but soon to be once again my favourite, The Walking Dead.

Would you run away from this zombette?

    Have a Fun Friday!

Desperate Tories Chase Hog Vote! Chuckling Bedwards!

Well, for an hour tonight, TV was good, The Walking Dead, awash with zombies, but thereafter?

After enjoying Erna’s appearance on Indosiar’s dangdut show yesterday, I tuned in once the zoms went home, but the high-pitched singer ululating at that point was wearing at least as much make-up as Erna had been – and it was a bloke.

    Yuk!

I switched channels, and found Law and Order on cable, not bad, but brief.

So finally to O Channel, where an old movie, The Doors, was playing. I actually saw their famous Mr. Morrison’s last resting place on a visit to Paris many years ago, so settled down to see how it might be.

    ————-

    • morrison   Ooops, wrong Mr. Morrison!

    • Then the difference between cable and regular Indonesian TV hit me right between the eyes. Jim was throwing back a glass of something. It might have been Bourbon, or it might have been Scots Irn-Bru.

    • ————–
    • Given the user’s notoriety, I’d guess the former, but who could tell?

The imbecilic censors obscured the act of consumption with one of their opaque little kill-joy clouds. Enough already.

It’s been a most pleasant day and I’m off to bed, But a final news story from the UK beforehand.

    ——————

Tory nerves force Cameron to soften benefit cuts for obese

    • —————–

Plans to impose benefit cuts on the obese and addicts who refuse to change their lifestyle were toned down because of tensions between David Cameron and the team of one of his most senior cabinet ministers.

    http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/politics/article4355347.ece

And it transpires this little tiff is down to Cast-Iron’s crew panicking over the forthcoming election. The votes of greedy pigs and dopers are desperately needed to balance the departure of the last remaining real conservatives from the Tory Party to UKIP.

Channel 4’s Ukip film attracts complaints before it even airs

… imagine what they could make of all that.

    • Anyway, this Monday has, in retrospect, been a VERY fine day – tomorrow, Tuesday, will likely be uneventful – and I got an sms earlier to say that Wednesday will be equally agreeable.
    • Unless the rain returns to keep visitors away.
    • Goodnight.

Jakarta Horror Day! Nightmare Rain Plus Zombies!

    Heck, it’s 9.30am now!

I’ve just surfaced, and it’s STILL raining! No nice visitors today!

    rainy day special

It has been all night, since well before I turned in almost seven hours ago. I was set to do so at 1.30am but I had a final channel surf and found The X Files on O Channel, switched cruelly from its previous 10pm slot.

So there I was till after 2 o’clock.

At least the cat was happy.

    ibicomputer

I let her in for a much appreciated hour’s respite from the increasingly soggy outdoors!

The noise of the torrential downpour kept me from sleep for ages  – days like this, one values the absence of that Monday-morning ordeal, no ‘off-to-work,’ no crack of dawn alarm to torment me.

But I feel desperately sorry, not so much for those who face today’s Jakarta traffic, always awful, Monday mornings more so, but in this deluge?

    NIGHTMARE!

    floodjokowi-baru-bisa-beri-sembako-belum-punya-solusi-banjir

And more sorry still for the poor people in places like Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta, and in Kedoya Green Garden in West Jakarta, and no doubt in Pluit and Kelapa Gading and Grogol too. Homes inundated, furniture ruined, and their very lives at risk if it worsens.

All I have to worry about (touch wood) is how I can reach the nearest mini-mart to replenish my cigarette supply!

    —–

Anyway, I did say last night I’d not be doing a lot of blogging this day. That was due to my planned evening zombie-tryst, the new series of The Walking Dead. I flicked though You Tube yesterday to see if they had any of the first series, which pre-dated my acquisition of cable, and was gratified to find they had.

So now I understand a little more of the characters’ backgrounds.

    walkingdrick Rick with Co-Stars!

But the ad for the new series has Rick, the leader of the good guys, speaking in his off-stage accent. His real name is Andrew Lincoln – there’s an article about him, and the show, in People  http://www.people.com/article/the-walking-dead-andrew-lincoln-rick-timestalks-video –

But what’s with such a serious take – Lincoln’s perspective on Rick’s “morally ambiguous” decisions – it’s a horror show, for pity’s sake!

His real accent is not at all the Southern twang one has become used to, from all the cast – the show is filmed in Georgia!

It’s an accent I like to hear – I’ve always liked the South, where I once spent some fine times; took a trip down there, after my participation in the NYC Marathon.

Don’t reckon I’ll go out running today!

Time for another cuppa Java. Then maybe one more, and more controversial, post, before I go into full hibernation mode…
