High Court Judge or Cry-Baby Crooner? Tough Decision for Muslim Party!

The idiosyncrasies of Indonesian politics were rarely better illustrated than by yesterday’s statement, on next year’s Presidential election, from the National Awakening Party (PKB), which previously said it was considering nominating Rhoma Irama, a prominent dangdut singer, now says that Mahfud M.D., the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, is a better fit for the party.
