As Anger Mounts Over SCTV’s Cowardice, IslamoNazis Widen the Net. “We’ll Attack at All Costs!”

Kapanlagi.com today reported that the IslamoNazi thug gang, FPI (Defenders of Islam) having won an easy victory over the gutless management of SCTV, are now threatening ANY Indonesian TV station that dares show the pro-tolerance film ‘Question Mark.’

Even as more voices were raised in protest at their arrogant censorship of the nation’s viewing, the FPI’s Jakarta Gauleiter, Habib Salim Alatas, declared that his sectarian white-shirts ‘will continue to monitor all television stations. According to the chairman of the FPI Jakarta, Habib Salim Alatas, FPI will invade any television station that dared to show the film?

Surely now the police must step in? How dare this pathetic little lout tell Indonesians of all creeds what they may or may not watch on their own televisions in their own homes?
“If the film is aired, do not blame us Muslims. Not just SCTV, but any TV station that broadcasts the film, Alatas affirmed that ‘FPI were going to attack at all costs!”  The nazis were at pains to discount any suggestion that SCTV had only postponed screening the film. FPI Fuhrer, Habib M. Rizieq, stated  that
“SCTV yesterday spoke before us and the reporters that the they would not be showing the film. Forever, no argument. Without debate. We will continue to monitor.’

Meanwhile more voices were raised against the fanatics’ latest moves against democracy.
Julia Perez. the dangdut star and movie actriess, went on Twitter to say she’ was ‘ready to help’ Hanung Bramantyo, the producer. He responded with thaks, adding that it’s not about films but ‘against gangsterism masquerading as religion!”

And Vivanews.com yesterday reported that the Ansor Youth Movement, Nusron Wahid,  had ‘condemned the Islamic Defenders Front. ” Today that film of Hanung, tomorrow who else? We do not know. Law and security forces treated this action as if it’s normal. The police are silent, ignore it, “said Nusron to VIVAnews, Sunday.

FPI have invoked the MUI, (Council of Indonesian  self-styled ‘Scholars) ”The film has been forbidden by the MUI,”said Gauleiter Habib Salim Al-Attas Selon.

However, the MUI itself denies issuing a fatwa. “We’ve been face to face. It was the solution that there were two choices: the film be withdrawn or revised. Agreement was reached, the film was revised, there were certain parts omitted, “said Chairman of the MUI, Ma’ruf Amin.

Vivanews on Sunday said that the young star of the film, Reza Rahardian, had also spoken up. ‘It is very unfortunate,” Reza said when contacted by VIVAnews.com on Sunday.

Reza Rahardian
According to him, many people are curious about the film and have not had time to watch at the cinema….”The response to this film has been great….the film was not a problem. We have no intention of making films to invite people to convert or to discriminate against any religion,” he said.

And a senior politician waded into the debate too.
“The actions of the FPI was excessive. If we let this be a precedent for other things,” said Deputy House Speaker Pramono Anung to AFP on Sunday (28/08/2011).Pram asserted that such suppression by the FPI should not happen in a democracy.”If FPI object, they can go though KPI (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission).
And the KPI itself has made its voice heard.

VIVAnews-Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) has deplored the cancellation of the screening “?” on SCTV. This case can be considered a bad precedent for the world of broadcasting.According to Commissioner Ezki Suyanto, KPI has actually suggested that SCTV still play the movie made by Hanung Bramantyo. because they assess the screening does not violate any regulations and had passed the Film Censorship Board. “No rule is violated at all by SCTV. I regret very much SCTV’s cancellation. If there are public objections, please submit an objection by the rules,” he said when contacted VIVAnews, Sunday, August 28, 2011.

Ezki see this case could set a bad precedent for intervention against broadcasters. Similar incidents, he feared would spread to other broadcasters. He worried about the future – there will be other groups who also perform the same action. “It’s just a matter of time for other broadcasters,” he said.

As for me, I can only ask everyone to
A   email SCTV and tell them what you think of them – hardijanto.s@scm.co.id   and

B  join in a boycott of products advertised on SCTV. They are a disgrace to the idea of a free media.
And don’t just boycott, email the products’ head office, telling them so, and telling them why.
If you can’t watch SCTV, I’ll list a few products and their email addresses regularly for a week or two.
