The verbal assault launched by MUI Deputy Secretary General Tengku Zulknarnain is so weak it barely merits a response, but some folk will welcome it, because…

…iIf the old bores antagonise Jokowi and he goes on to win, perhaps they’ll be told to stop leeching off the public purse and raise money from people who WANT to support their incessant ranting.

Maybe they don’t realise that, unlike harmless minority creeds, politicians with popular support can bite back.

Floods still hit Jakarta and the people of Jakarta suffer…similarly,  traffic jams are still here, making people unhappy…Jokowi has not yet succeeded in cleaning up Jakarta and realising a new Jakarta as promised. –

As if this Governor could reasonably be expected by any sane person to resolve all the problems afflicting the city in one term, after decades of other governors have failed to do so.

Most people think he’s doing a pretty good job.

But the ‘scholar’ ( who graciously admits Jokowi has every right to run for President) even has the nerve to quote the Koran as back-up!

The Koran warns of the threat to people deceived by lying leaders..

No doubt it does, and one might have thought that verse might have been quoted in respect of numerous other politicians besides Jokowi, long before now.

Which is why I must agree with Tengku’s other words, when he adds that “the Indonesian people should know about this and be smart voters…“

And that prior to the election, all kinds of dirty tactics will be brought to bear, especially by fanatics who are horrified by the fact that if Jokowi wins, his Christian Deputy will take over as Governor of Jakarta!
