  •  There’s been an official denial that a widely reported ‘visit’ by the Protestant PGI (Communion of Churches in Indonesia) to the HQ of the vigilante gang calling itself the Islam Defenders’ Front (FPI) even took place!

PGI’s Head of Public Relations, Jerry Sumampouw, declared that the story was simply not true.

Merdeka’s responsible research instead suggests that the pastors who went to the FPI HQ were from a group named BAMAG LKKI (Inter-Agency Consultative Indonesian Christian Church Religious Institutions)

Never heard of them! But reassuring to hear that the respectable PGI did not sully its record by sitting down with the brutal white-shirts! No person should, in good conscience, be seen in their company.

It seems whoever they were, they were very apologetic about the mosque-burning in Tolikara.

Burning out those who differ from you in religious matters is wrong, indeed, but….Tolikara, Papua / Cisalada, West Java – Burning Houses of Worship is BAD!   …I doubt very much if the FPI apologised for their violent attacks on Ahmadi mosques, or their intimidation of Christians, or even bully-boy tactics against decent Muslims, with which they’ve been involved.Jakarta Mosque Mayhem – IslamoNazi Louts Silence Moderate! 

There’s also a mention of the wayward reverends seeing eye-to-eye with their considerate hosts on the evils of the PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party, and of course every decent Indonesian would agree that the Reds were a cancer well-excised.

But equally, most Indonesians would surely see it as odd that an outfit like the FPI, motivated by an intolerant, violent ideology – jihadism – would be in any way entitled to condemn the PKI, which was motivated by an equally intolerant, violent ideology – marxism.
